I too was trying to get a 3tb work with my raspbian. I guess I though try another distro.

Re: 3TB Hard Drive Issue

...Can you point me to the directions you used to enable this... you have the right link, you just need to edit the config before you build... though EFI is already enabled so the problem might just be they were using the wrong tools (fdisk). current config PARTITION settings: zcat /proc/config.gz ...

Re: GPT support in Raspian

I thought GPT support was a standard option in the more recent versions of the Linux kernel. However, I don't know for certain that it is enabled in the Raspberry Pi kernel as built by the Foundation. What I can say is that the userland GPT tools such as gdisk and parted are present within the Rasp...

Re: 3TB Hard Drive Issue

Hi All A long googling session started and I found that recompiling the Kernel with the "CONFIG_EFI_PARTITION to y" was required, so I went about doing this. Rather than compile on a faster machine, I decided to compile on the RPi itself. 6 hours later.... The Kernel had compiled and after followin...

Re: NFSv4 Server

I have nothing of value to add to this thread, but that is odd. On my regular linux box, I get a 30-35% increase in speed with NFS over Samba. Was your test on the out of hte box NFS, or V4?

GPT support in Raspian

Does the Raspian image have support for GPT and large disks (3TB) out of the box? If not, how can I add it in?

Re: 3tb/gpt support (raspian)

Just an update, I now have my pi seeing the drive. I had a corrupt GPT table. However now my pi is only seeing the drive has approximately 790 GB. Does the raspberry pie have GPT support in the kernel? Or do I need to recompile? I have formatted the disk using Gdisk. # gdisk /dev/sda I went into the...

3tb/gpt support (raspian)

Hi there, I have a model b PI, and I bought the prebuilt Debian/raspian sd cards. I have a 3
Tb drive set as gpt with an ext3 partition. When plugged in via USB, I can see the drive in the /dev directory (sda, not sda1). Do I need to compile the kernel to add support? Or what are my best steps here?
