Re: Openmax il freeze on pi4 after running some time

Your looping is badly flawed, too. You're simply reopening the file, feeding an empty packet to the stack -- because you're not reading anything -- and then dropping back into the main loop. I'd expect to see the clocks reset, and a OMX_BUFFERFLAG_STARTTIME set on the first actual packet of the reo...

Re: Openmax il freeze on pi4 after running some time

How long is your video file, therefore has it actually looped? How many times? Is it consistently always the same time period/loops? What resolution is it? (Shouldn't make much difference, but always worth noting). Memory says that IL throws an OMX_EventPortSettingsChanged event every time it parse...

Openmax il freeze on pi4 after running some time

Hi I developed an application using openmax il to play h264 stream on pi4 , after running some time, the application hangs on ilclient_get_input_buffer and it takes a long time to return. I tried the sample code(hello_video) on pi4 as well and found the same issue as my own application. I just did a...

Display device id of primary monitor??

Hi All I have recently got my new pi4 device. However, I am getting trouble trying to get the device id of my primary monitor. I am using vc_dispmanx_display_open(int device_id) to open a display when i want to draw something to that monitor and I managed to find that the device_id for two display o...

OpenGL EGL not working on Pi4??

Hi All
My programe is using OpenGL EGL, it works on pi3 and crashes on pi4 , it crashes at eglGetDisplay(EGL_DEFAULT_DISPLAY). I tried to build those sample code under /opt/vc which also uses EGL, however those applications output shows that it can not be run at pi4. So pi4 does not support EGL???

Does video_decode and video_render support 4k decode and rendering

Hi
I used video_decode and video_render to decode and render 4k video(3840x2160) on pi4 . However, the screen corrupts, anyone know whether video_render or video_Decod support 4k decode and render??

thanks

ShmPutImage low performance comparing with pi3

Hi All I just ran a performance benchmark using the tool here: https://github.com/hglm/benchx which actually compares the performance of low level x api. I compared the results between pi3b and pi4. Here are the results: We can see that, pi4 outperforms pi3 generally, however when it comes to MIT SH...

Re: OpenMax video covers all X window and keeps topmost

Imagine layers of graphics in the same way as layers of sheet of paper. The sheet at the bottom is layer -127, the piece of paper above that is -126 etc. Now imagine those sheets of paper are offset from each other, or have areas cut out of them to you can see bits fo the images on the sheets below...

pi4 sometime not booting with two monitors attached

Hi Everyone! I just got my pi4 device this week and installed with the latest buster image. However sometimes my pi4 won't boot with two monitors attached. Every time when i power on my pi4, if the rainbow image shows on both of the display, then pi4 will boot successfully, otherwise, only one monit...

Re: OpenMax video covers all X window and keeps topmost

Not using video_render. You are not rendering into the window, you are adding an overlay on top of the frame buffer. You can pull the pixels back to the ARM and blit them actually into the window surface, but as I have said that is CPU and memory bandwidth intensive. You haven't said what content y...

Re: OpenMax video covers all X window and keeps topmost

Thanks for your reply! by setting OMX_DISPLAY_SET_DEST_RECT, the video is rendered to part of the screen but it does not solve the issue that the video will cover the x window under it even if i have clicked the x window under it. Is there anyway to solve this? Not using video_render. You are not r...

Re: OpenMax video covers all X window and keeps topmost

OMX video_render has no concept of X, it just applies an overlay to be composed by the hardware (the pixels don't get written to the framebuffer). Conversely X has no concept of overlays, therefore composition into an X window on the RGBX framebuffer is a hugely processor intensive operation (forma...

OpenMax video covers all X window and keeps topmost
