Re: Chiavetta huawey

L'unità CD contiene i driver per windows, ma non mostra i file sulla scheda SD.

Non è chiaro se hai provato a fare quello che ti ha suggerito DaveDriesen.

Re: Samba Networking Nightmare

Why do you use Samba?
It is mainly used for network including Windows pc.
NFS is the "native" solution for Linux/Unix.

There are several guides to set up NFS on Debian and Ubuntu,

Re: How to enable zram on Raspbian Wheezy?

It is worth to point out that it is NOT possible to set the amount of memory to be used by zram, only the disk size, i.e. the amount of UNcompressed data to store. As jackokring says, conservative settings have to be used, to avoid stalling in case of low compression ratios. Also note that strange t...

Re: Amount of RAM

The ram used is PoP type (i.e. the chip soldered on the board and the ram is soldered on the chip)

This special type or RAM package is available only on 128 and 256 MB (at least for reasonable price).

<t>USB specs say 4,75-5,25 volts, so 5,3 (with which tolerance?) is just outside the limits.<br/> <br/> I don't think it will fry the R-Pi, but the same voltage would go also on the USB bus, and I wonder what would happen to the motor of an hard disk drive with a slight overvoltage (again, I guess n...

<t>While creating the patches will have an higher initial amount of work, it should ease the maintenance of the kernel, i.e. it should be easier to port new kernels and modules to the R-Pi, with the long term goal to have them into mainline kernel.<br/> <br/> That said, of course the Fundation has n...

Re: cheap uninterruptible power supply for r-pi?

<t>Cheapest would be 4 NiMH AA batteries (nominal voltage 1.2, actual a bit higher), with a series diode (0.2 V drop).<br/> <br/> If batteries are good (low internal resistance) and fully charged this should give 4.6-4.8 volt.  (USB  spec is 5V+/-5%, i.e. 4.75-5.25).<br/> <br/> You will note that 4....

<t>1- Will a micro-usb, not mini. If you have a smartphone, then you have already the right power supply and cable<br/> <br/> 2- The original project was a more generic plug for power supply (6-20V, if I remember well), so that would have need the protection.<br/> <br/> 3- SD with preloaded OS will ...

Re: Is Pi able to play streaming video ?

It is worth noting that Adobe is going to drop Flash on mobile device in favor of HTML5, so I guess that a lot of websites will have at least a mobile version without Flash. And since I don't think they will go with two different technologies for long, I foresee that Flash will fade away.

In my experience, with slow media like SDs, a squasfs + aufs setup makes a noticeable difference.

Re: Boinc in Rapsberry?

Even if you can install boinc, it will be little use if there are no application.
AFAIK, the only project releasing an application for ARM is Correlizer, but ARM is such a wide ecosystem with different instruction sets, that it could be that it is not compatible with RPi
