Re: Please just ignore (some) 1st posts

I have a different viewpoint here. It could be the case that the person who just doesn’t know how to put forward his question just browsed the Internet for similar questions and saw a similar question and decided to post it here to have it answered. They may also use google translate to get their qu...

If you have a quad core Pi then it should not be needed - there are three spare cores to run other programs.

That’s true, python can only use one core so you have three more for other processes.

Python 2 is depracated and is almost reaching eol.

Python 2 has now passed its End of Life date: https://www.python.org/doc/sunset-python-2/
Hmm, I always thought that they will EOL python 2 in 2021.
Anyways thanks for the info.

Re: Best method to power Pi Zero W from 24V psu?

I guess you must try a buck converter that has a good rating and quality.
Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Ailavi-Converter ... B00XPZ7I4I.
But I guess it is a bit costly for what it is actually worth, shouldn’t be more than 6 dollars.

Re: Serial port issues when running python script using terminal

Just a small suggestion, try to port the code to python 3.
Python 2 is depracated and is almost reaching eol.
Maybe porting the code can fix the unseen issue.

I got an idea to achieve what I want, so wrote out a small script for it. I haven’t tested it yet but will do soon. This solution is not the most elegant one, therefore if you all can get a better solution, you can post it here. Thanks for the help so far. from zipfile import ZipFile with ZipFile('t...

Re: Where to buy genuine Raspberry Pi 4B?

In the arduino world it is very easy to make your own clone of the original. But in the world of pi, it is very very difficult to build a clone. Do not assume anyone sells the pi’s hardware components (like soc) in your local hardware store. But there exist various resellers of the pi, all of them s...

Re: Function Repeats itself 10 Times Instead of Once!

In your draw() function, there is no need to define the variables as global, this is because the function can read for variable outside to function.
But you cannot change the variable inside to function (doing this will not raise error but will create a new local variable for the function)

Use more “for” loops. For example, the following code for i in range(2): zx.output(4, zx.HIGH) sleep(.1) zx.output(5, zx.HIGH) sleep(.1) zx.output(6, zx.HIGH) sleep(.1) zx.output(12, zx.HIGH) sleep(.1) zx.output(13, zx.HIGH) sleep(.1) zx.output(16, zx.HIGH) sleep(.1) zx.output(17, zx.HIGH) sleep(.1)...

Re: ZipFile in python

I did read the docs of extract and it said it takes a file path, or a file like object.
But it did not mention that it accepts directories.
In my case, I want to extract a whole DIRECTORY that is zipped into the working directory of my program.

So I have a zipfile that I want to extract using python. I came across the zipfile module that I would be using in this project. The problem is, I want to extract to contents of a directory inside the zipfile into the working directory of the python script and I don’t know how to do it. Can someone ...

I had followed this ( https://howtoraspberrypi.com/how-to-ins ... y-pi-lamp/ ) tutorial a few months ago on my raspbian stretch OS. It had a few hiccups but in the end, it worked.
And I guess the same would also work on buster.

So the command I have given above basically creates a link between where your package is installed to where python would normally search for packages you import.
