Re: Is anyone actually trying to use Raspbian for desktop us
Well until September raspbian image came out and 512mb ram upgrade it was not usable as desktop. Logging into gmail took two minutes with midori. But as a headless server it was sweet stuff already. Now its fine for desktop. Cheers guys, this device's os is still in development and its going to get ...

Re: opensource videodriver
Yes , i think the problem is that Android can not get any features enabled via "packages". You will have to recompile the whole image for something so deeply rooted like HW acceleration. Quite in contrary to Linux distros. Android runs only on top of Linux , but is quite a different beast...

Re: opensource videodriver
The point is that Broadcom never showed such a thing ... they showed us a working fast Android image in action :D Not a driver or a user-friendly setup program. ghans Yeah yeah I know but did they not include this driver package in their showcase? Broadcom just make an image without a package of dr...

Re: opensource videodriver
The point is that those libraries 1) expose the exact messages passed to the GPU , and can be used for bare-metal 2) can be compiled against bionic instead glibc , whic is important for Android @bud-pnq Nobody calls that a driver . That what you want is a Operating System Image. That is something d...

'meh' haha that's funny :) hope the real deal driver gets released pretty soon. What do you mean 'real' driver? We have released the entire Arm side driver collection. This should enable other OS to take advantage of the GPU acceleration, including Android. Sorry didn't mean to offend anybody, I'm ...

Re: dd takes so long...
My sandisk ultra class 4 16gb SD card took only about 30 minutes or so on my pretty old macbook. Writing 2 gb image to the SD card took 10min and backing 16gb image took 30-40 min. Your Macbook should be fine and SD card should be fine. Probably your card reader. Dynex reader butchered my microsd us...

Re: Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
I have Logitech wireless wave KB mouse combo and it works great. But when connected with WiFi dongle it just doesn't work, even with powered usb hub. Tried two different manufacturer hubs but both with same struggles. One wireless chip at a time has been the only success with me, Bluetooth, WiFi, Lo...

Re: Overclocking
What SD cards are you guys using, if using them at all? I tried 3 sd cards with different overclock stability results on raspbian wheezy official 2012-7-15 no updates, upgrades performed. I don't know if drives are factor on overclocks but these are some rough tinkering with observations. All of th...

Re: Raspberry Pi Fedora F17 Remix – Test image 4
Hello I have just started with my Pi and while browsing distro's I noticed this one, fedora remix. There is an installer with a link on the site. What is not clear to a new user like myself is this. Is this installer run natively on the PI or is the operation done on a desktop PC like my raspbian i...
