Re: BBC Micro emulator running Elite

Hi - just got !BeebIt running on my RISC OS Raspberry Pi - it runs Elite reasonably well - in fact if you switch off the speed limit to 2mhz it runs it insanely fast: http://kimondo.co.uk/elite-8-bit-emulation-heaven/ I was able to dock, fly around a bit (which is my 'is it playable' test) I'm using...

Re: Elite : Dangerous

You can run Arc Elite - one of the best versions of the original, quite smoothly on the Pi if you run it on the ArcEm emulator whilst running RISC OS - I've done a write up of this on my blog - http://kimondo.co.uk/elite-making-a-game-that-looks-as-good-as-the-box-art/ - you're playing in widescreen...

Re: Pi in BBC Micro case

<r>Came across this project to put an EEEpc in an electron case:<br/> <br/> <URL url="http://forums.bit-tech.net/sho.....p?t=213247">http://forums.bit-tech.net/sho.....p?t=213247</URL><br/> <br/> This is quite a long winded way of doing it - essentially involves connecting each key individually to a...

Re: Lego case project

<r>Right, I've posted here before with a couple of lego case designs - first using the lego designer app, second after discovering the lego shop doesn't stock many of the bricks in the app.<br/> <br/> And finally I have a Raspberry pi to stick in a case - so here's the latest version:<br/> <br/> <br...

<r>Lego pack from pick-a-brick (<URL url="http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Pic.....ck-ByTheme">http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Pic.....ck-ByTheme</URL>) arrived today. My main tip if anyone else is thinking of ordering: order more than you think you'll need.<br/> <br/> Here's version 1 of the vertical window c...

Re: Lego case project

<t>I've noticed some of the larger transparent bricks are listed as windows and appear in a different section of the lego pick-a-brick site.<br/> <br/> Have ordered about £12 of transparent bricks of various sizes - annoyingly not all were available in the design I posted above, so I've substituted ...

Re: Lego case project

<t>right had a bit of a play in lego designer with the idea of a vertical case - the USB / ethernet would emerge from the top, and the power usb would be on the bottom - possibly using a right angled usb connector. It's possible to alter the sides to allow for gaps for the various bits that stick ou...

<r>thankyou @robleady, I will read things properly next time (got distracted with the pictures)<br/> <br/> clear lego bricks are widely available - someone's even built a greenhouse with them <URL url="http://www.geek.com/articles/g.....-20110924/">http://www.geek.com/articles/g.....-20110924/</URL>...

Re: Lego case project

<t>How thick is the circuit board? I had an idea of a simple open-style lego case with a novel way of mounting the board:<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> The "mini-figures" (I always called them lego men) can hold something about 3mm thick and the hands protrude a maximum of 3mm over what they're gripping.
