Re: Screen goes black when turning things on or off

No, the power led doesn't blink when the monitor goes off, but the OSD is inaccessible during that short time (which is not strange - it can't be accessed when switching inputs nor when the monitor shows the message that's entering power saving mode). Furthermore, when the screen is black, it's not ...

Re: Screen goes black when turning things on or off

It's not a problem with the monitor, as I said the same setup (HDMI->DVI+cable+monitor) works fine with my laptop and additionally, the analog (VGA) input of the monitor, which has been used for a long time, never showed this problem. It's most definitely a problem with the power supply, but I'm kin...

Screen goes black when turning things on or off

I received my first Raspberry Pi B+ last Monday. Everything works fine and I'm happy with it, except for an issue: often, when things are turned off or on, or plugged in or out of the mains at any place in the house, the screen goes black for about a second, before coming back. The Pi does not reset...

OK, here's the proof I wanted to confirm the FAQ about AA batteries doesn't lie.

Do you know for how long the Pi can stay on when running from these batteries?

Re: Getting accessories for the A-model

<r>Well, that\'s what I was saying except for the fact that paying only half the device is a bit extreme. Essentially, what I said was that if they could sell you the Pi for 200 NOK or a bit less so that it wouldn\'t pay import taxes, you would pay the remaining part with a donation or a sticker <E>...

Re: Getting accessories for the A-model

@kme: Perhaps you could make an arrangement with the Raspberry Pi foundation so that you pay half the price of the device (and that is the declared custom value), and \"donate\" the other half, dividing the payment in two?

Raspberry Pi has been Slashdotted at least 11 times. Perhaps they should create a specific section for its stories, like what happens with "linux", "cloud" and "science" :)

Yes, the Raspberry Pi natively supports Full HD resolution, that is 1920x1080, at 30 frames (or more, can\'t remember) per second. There is a demo of an Alpha board running Quake 3, search the blog for it.

I think we should add a hardware based malware filter so we can make sure RPis are not used for bad things... not sure how a \"h/w based malware filter\" would work though... with a h/w firewall perhaps?
