Booting from Secondary SD card(SD1) in RPI CM3+

Hi, I wanted to boot from Secondary SD card(SD1) in Raspberry PI CM3+. The link https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/100775/compute-module-3-using-sd-card-on-sd1 says it is possible with dtoverlay=sdio,sdio_overclock=25,poll_once=0,gpios_34_39=1 in config.txt I tried the same thing. Also ...

Re: USB Mass Storage Booting with RPI CM3+

Hi, I could finally solve the issue, thanks to Gordon, for guiding me to use UART_BOOT. With UART Console I could change config.txt as required and execute raspi-config command, that leads to the solution. We need to use raspi-config to enable Desktop Auto login. Actually I need to boot from Seconda...

Re: USB Mass Storage Booting with RPI CM3+

Hi, There are some progress. With UART_BOOT, now I can login through serial console. That means actually, in USB Host Boot mode, booting is happening. But HDMI Display is not working well with USB Host mode - Mass storage booting. For this particular Display to work, I need to put hdmi_group=2 hdmi_...

Re: USB Mass Storage Booting with RPI CM3+

Hi Gordon, Thank You for a detailed reply. First I would answer the questions: 1) Does the Compute module access the USB pen drive at boot time at all? (Is there a flashing LED or something when you first connect to it? Yes. I have one sony 8GB pendrive with LED. And when I power ON the system, with...

Re: USB Mass Storage Booting with RPI CM3+

Hi, There is not any problem with USB pendrive detection. I can see /dev/sda, /dev/sda1, /dev/sda2, when booting with emmc. Also when Power ON with GPIO 25 ON, the Pendrive is being accessed as indicated by blinking Pendrive LED. It seems, it misses some files or information to proceed from there. W...

Re: USB Mass Storage Booting with RPI CM3+

Hi, I got another link - https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=217365 It says to remove the resistor R12 from the CMIO V3 board, to put the CM3+ in USB host boot mode. I did the same. But still it is not working. Now I doubt Pendrive. Does it work with all Pendrives? I am using Kingston...

Re: USB Mass Storage Booting with RPI CM3+

Hi Gordon, Thank You for the reply and link. The link, discusses problem in a custom board. I am facing the problem in the device kit itself. Also by reading this link, now I have a doubt. In which port, the Pendrive should be inserted for booting? In USB Host port(J14) or USB Slave port(J15) with U...

USB Mass Storage Booting with RPI CM3+

Hi, I am using Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3+ for an Industrial Project - Normal version(not lite version). And I want multiple boot options for this. EMMC booting is finely working. And I want to use usb mass storage boot as well. For this first I enabled GPIO boot mode, by putting program_gpio_boo...

Re: SD on CM3 module

Hi, Sorry for reopening an old issue. I want to use Raspberry Pi Compute Model 3 + for an Industrial project. And we required two boot options at the same. Boot from either EMMC or SD card. Is it possible? Based on GPIO selection(using GPIO boot mode), it should from either EMMC or SD card. Is it re...

Re: SSH over USB with Raspberry Pi 3B?

Hi,

Shall You share the steps required for communicating Raspberry Pi 3 B+ with an Ubuntu Laptop, through SSH, with USBNET cable?
I think USBNET cable need to be connected to one of the USB Host ports of Raspberry Pi 3 B+(not in USB slave port). Right?

Re: TUTORIAL: Qt Crosscompile (Qt5.10.1)

Hi Mline, Thank You for the detailed step by step by way of making a cross compile qmake for RPI in an Ubuntu Host system. I could have a qmake with Qt Multi Media options - gstreamer 1.0, ALSA and Pulse Audio enabled, by following this procedure, after several failures by doing in other ways. Qt Mu...

Flickering in streaming video

Hi Community, I am using Raspberry Pi 3 B+ for capturing video from a USB Camera and displaying on the attached HDMI display.
