How can I prevent wlan0 from connecting to network when wlan1 is active?

I have a wifi adapter plugged in and both wlan0 and wlan1 are connected to my home network, will I notice slower speeds this way? If so how can I disable wlan0 from auto-connecting to my network or just disable it entirely?

Re: Can someone help me set up SSH using keys on Windows 10?

Thank you both! I finally got it working! swampdog thank you for the very thorough, detailed response, I really do appreciate it. I was having trouble understanding because a lot of the guides talked as if I had a lot of experience and should know how to do it but I obviously did not (do now!) and I...

Can someone help me set up SSH using keys on Windows 10?

Okay so normally I always just connect using the IP and password and I have never actually used keys. I've tried following lots of different guides and reading the docs and stuff for passwordless ssh access or whatever but I just can't understand. It's too hard for me to follow the directions and fi...

[Help] Raspberry Pi Camera Module Not Working (64-bit)

Hopefully, someone can be of help, I tried googling this and it appears that quite a few people have had problems with this but for others, the camera works fine. I installed Raspbian 32 bit just to make sure I could get it to work normally and I did, however with the 64-bit OS I can't get it to wor...

Re: How to Upgrade to Latest Python Version?

I would suggest following Jahboater's instructions here - viewtopic.php?p=1761359#p1761359 That's always worked for me, building 3.7 when we were on 3.6. The newer 3.8, 3.9 and 3.10 have worked just as well. That has always updated "python3" to automatically use the latest version. Issue resolved, ...

Re: How to Upgrade to Latest Python Version?

I'm sure there's a way my script could be tweaked. logging.basicConfig(filename ='error_log.txt', encoding ='utf-8', level=logging.ERROR) # Starts debugging log log = logging.getLogger(__name__) # These two lines will allow us to see what python module raised an error Lol, all I had to do was remove...

How to Upgrade to Latest Python Version?

I'm aware that upgrading is usually going to break more things than it will fix, however, I have written a script on windows that use python 3.9, and now that it's finally complete and I want to let it run all day on my Pi I am unable to do so because my Pi is only using Python 3.7.3. Will upgrading...

Just tried going to menu > preference> raspberry pi configuration > display > set resolution and using CEA (no DMT) for 1920x1080p @120hz but that didn't work, any other suggestions?

Any way to use 1920x1080 @144hz?

I tried editing /boot/config.txt and changing hdmi_group and hdmi_mode and couldn't get it working, I also noticed there is no 1920x1080 @144hz option for DMT in the docs, how do I set this custom?

Re: Headless Pi not booting into correct screen resolution.

Okay, thank you for the help I managed to get it to boot into the resolution in which I desired, however how do I open this over the cloud. For example, right now I can enter 10.0.0.145:1 in vncviewer but what would I do if I wasn't connected to the same internet?

So would I want to disable the vnc server from automatically starting on boot? And then ssh into my machine and then do vncserver --geometery 1920x1080? Or what would I do, I'm having a hard time following all of those pictures. Update: I tried disabling vncserver on startup and the SSHing into my p...

You know, thinking back now, it probably would've been a good idea... I tried at least 5 different installs haha.

Also, this is a little off-topic but do you somehow get notifications here? I just have to go look at my posts and look to see if the number of replies has changed.

Re: Raspberry pi "native" resolution and output resolution

The default resolution is adaptive to your monitor or display, just like plugging a console or a computer into different monitors. You can edit your config.txt to force a certain output resolution if you would like. Follow the link below to view different resolutions. https://www.raspberrypi.org/doc...

Headless Pi not booting into correct screen resolution.

I am currently running a headless pi 4b and I am using mosh and VNC viewer to control it. I have specified in my config.txt file to boot into 1080p @60Hz however this only works if I have my 1080p monitor plugged in. Before if I would start the Pi without a monitor plugged in I couldn't use VNC view...

Re: Pi 4 B Will not boot, no green LED

Hello and thank you for the reply, I figured out what the problem was my pi came with a fan and case and I did not correctly install the fan so if I plugged it in before it would boot up it wouldn't boot up at all and then if I rebooted it with it plugged in it wouldn't turn back on. I had to insert...

Pi 4 B Will not boot, no green LED [Solved]

I recently purchased a Raspberry Pi 4 B 4GB model and it came in today, so I plugged in the class 10 micro SD card that came preloaded with NOOBS and nothing showed up, I then tried editing the config.txt and tried to force HDMI, nothing. So I formatted the SD card and tried just installing Rasbian ...
