Re: How to connect power to Pi 4 in an embedded system ?

I tried the gpio header, since I have no idea how the new USB-C cables work (apparently it confused RPF too). So far I am having moderate success with powering via a single 0V and 5V pin on the 40 pin gpio header. I say 'moderate' because I keep seeing the 'lightening bolt' in the top right of the s...

How to connect power to Pi 4 in an embedded system ?

I just received my Pi 4 and I want to use it in a mobile robot, as I have done previously with a Pi 3B. I supply power to the 3B with a micro USB connector from a small dc-dc converter. I cut the USB cable and then connected the 0 and 5V lines to the power supply. I now see that I need to use a USB-...

Re: Camera module blocks access to second i2c bus on port5?

Ok, I've found the answer. Firstly my problem was just a bad connection in the i2c. Secondly, the clash between Raspberry camera and I2c only affects i2c bus 0, which the camera, display and HAT EEPROM use. It is possible to use i2c bus 0 if you are not using the camera, display and HAT EEPROM. This...

Re: Camera module blocks access to second i2c bus on port5?

I have been trying to use Rasperry Pi camera V2 with devices on i2c bus 1. I had the i2c working, but I could not get the camera to work (it gave ENOSPC error). I did a complete reinstall of O/S (I am using Ubiquity Robotics sd image of Lubuntu with ROS). Now I can use the camera, but i2c does not d...
