Re: No display (HDMI) signal after update

I succeeded in rolling back the upgrade/update as described in this post:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... c74efc5763

The rollback fixed my problem. No more updates on this system until a Buster complete upgrade.

Re: Pi 3B - no HDMI output after latest apt-get kernel upgrade

No, my system does not have Kodi installed. My monitor refuses to display anything at all, other than the 'no signal' message. I'm still fighting the Putty login to SSH in and do the reversion too the previous kernel. It boots from the SSD, but with NO HDMI signal at all. The system works great from...

Re: External HDD mount read-write problem

I have been using the Geekworm X820 enclosure and board for several months on my NAS with a 1TB SSD as the boot device. It has worked VERY well. It's not the least expensive way to hood the SSD to a RPi 3B+, but it boots reliably every time. It took a little work to get get up, but you can blame tha...

Re: Pi 3B - no HDMI output after latest apt-get kernel upgrade

I initially ignored your post because you mentioned Kodi, and I believed that your problem was different than mine. It seems that your post may contain the answer that i have been searching for, rolling back an upgrade. It seems that there is a potentially faulty kernel in the most recent package. H...

Re: No display (HDMI) signal after update

I put Buster on an SD card and booted from it. No problems there, HDMI output is spot on. Next I edited the config.txt on the SSD and told it to go to HDMI safe mode. I did a shutdown and then with the SD card removed, tried to boot from the existing SSD partition. Still no HDMI output from the Pi, ...

No display (HDMI) signal after update

Today I set up a new monitor on my SSD driven 3B+. After fighting the built in overscan on the monitor, and setting the resolution to perfection, I decided to do an update & upgrade. I noted a reminder to do a reboot to replace a running file. I can't remember which one it was, but it was near the e...

Re: Installation failure on Acer Aspire 5516 laptop

Unfortunately, it seems to be what I was stuck with after many attempts. Lets mark this one closed. I moved on to another distro of Linux for this particular project. I will keep learning Raspbian on the collection of Pi's on hand.

Re: Installation failure on Acer Aspire 5516 laptop

I used Rufus-3.4 to create the bootable USB. Since the USB stick was a 32 gb, I knew it had enough room. In the first attempt, the Graphical Install program ran just fine up to and until it said that it could not not locate the files on the CD/DVD drive. It could not find them there because they wer...
