Re: How do you delete the "work" directories after a build?

Yes, I could have provided a few more details. I thought it was enough though.

Back on point, do you have any suggestions? Is there a pi-gen specific forum?

Writing a new file to Raspbian image

I have written a script (rpi_init file) that I am intending on running on first launch of the Raspberry Pi after an image is burned to an SD card. It is referenced from rc.local in /etc/ and rc.local is returned to its original state after the script is run. I have copied the new file to /boot/ dire...

Re: How do you delete the "work" directories after a build?

I am referring to the Raspbian build image. When you run ./build.sh, it generates a work directories based on stage 0 through 3, 4 or 5. Once that is complete, it generates a ZIP file of that image. My question, how do you delete those "work" directories after a build? Deleting with the "sudo" comma...

How do you delete the "work" directories after a build?

The Raspbian build keeps generating work directories, one for each day you build. How do you speed up by isolating it to one directory, if for instance you never touch stage 0 and stage1? And how do you go about deleting a work directory? I am unable to due to privileges.

Re: What does on_chroot do?

alright, makes sense. This is good news. This would then allow you to perform some config's after re-imaging allowing you to configure WiFI after the fact.

Re: What does on_chroot do?

on that note, if I was intending on making a Raspbian Lite build and generate custom stage3 which consisted of simply installing a package (via PyPI) which has a UI, would I do that within the on_chroot syntax? So, it would be contained within my image? Or, do I make some changes to have it run on f...

What does on_chroot do?

when looking at 00-run.sh within the build scripts, what is meant by the routine on_chroot from scripts/common? Why is it used? I saw a reply in an incident ticket, but not sure what "run as if it were on the Pi" mean? I am generating an image on Debian Stretch The key line here is capsh --drop=cap_...

Trying to generate an Stage2 image, but no luck

So, I have looked at all the instructions on how to generate Raspbian Lite, but no luck. As a matter of fact, I was trying to generate an Hassbian image, which is Raspbian Lite + Home Assistant, but it stops in Stage 3 because my Debian Stretch O/S running in VMWare doesn't find three of hte package...
