Re: Setting up the rpi as a nas to offload files over vpn

no worries, this is what i suggest for your needs. I have a pi 3 setup with nextcloudpi that i have port forwarded in my router running DD-WRT, and I have a pi zero that is setup with pivpn. If you only want to access your nextcloud server over vpn then I think you should use a setup similar to me....

Re: Setting up the rpi as a nas to offload files over vpn

Your welcome, i've been running nextcloudpi for a couple years now and it works quite well. You will need to setup ddns and port forwarding in your router to access you nextcloudpi from anywhere. Here is a free dns solution that i've used since first starting out with my original raspberry pi. http...

Re: Raspberry pi Zero Nas speed

Hi, I was running over Wifi, the limiting factor with the ZeroW was the CPU usage, you may not experience this if you have no encryption on your NAS. My VPN now runs on a Pi2 over Wifi, with that I easily see 20mbps, I am now limited by WiFi and Internet speeds.... Regards, am i interpeting this ri...

Re: Raspberry pi Zero Nas speed

Hi, I cant comment on NAS speed, however I was using a ZeroW to run a VPN, the speeds weren't great, things did improve if I over-clocked the heck out of it, even then I don't think I hit 10Mbit, they were better than 2-3 though.. I think the issue you are seeing is that everything is essentially c...

Re: Raspberry pi zero sd card trough to usb boot

If you are new to the Pi and not up to speed with moving bits of the OS around, I would look at Berryboot as it can set this up for you. https://berryterminal.com/doku.php/berryboot ah i had already forgotten about berryboot as iwe only used it once, i think this might resolve this whole issue i gu...
