You pick your controller like your cell phone or a laptop and use either ssh or VNC to log into the robot's Pi then you control the robot via your controller.
For the application I would prefer to have Hardware controls

Re: What wireless controller can I use?

Having a dedicated controller would make the buy a lot easier to use. Having Hardware controls vs. Software controls. Sounds like building my own controller is going to be the only way I can go about it. What would be the best method for a wireless communication between two pi's?

What wireless controller can I use?

I want to build a bought from ground up. Four wheels, four-wheel drive. I need two joysticks, one joystick for the two right Wheels another joystick for the two left Wheels. And a few other things. I would need and knob that I can control the speed of a motor with. And a few buttons that I can contr...

think my pi2 b broke. can i get my files back?

When I look at the sd card in windows I can see what looks like a boot partition, then their is a larger partition that can been seen by windows but is unreadable. I presume this is a linux partition not fat32? i get a power and act light solid on my board. nothing on screen. doesn't show up on rout...

code keeps running if i use from threading import timer?

seems like my code keeps running if i use this to create a pause. this isn't exactly my goal. I need to "pause" the code for a period of time. but if an "emergency stop" button is pressed during the pause id like to run a final line of code (which stops the machine) and halt all further operation of...

Re: can a python file be made to run in a way that is not humanly readable?

Better yet use Perl, that can be really unreadable! (look for some of the Obfuscated perl contests) First off maybe determine the risk of someone actually doing that vs the cost of trying to defeat what might be a non threat. Or look at other ways of making money from your code (e.e. get them to pa...

Re: hardware pwm without wiringpi or other libraries

I was going to ask a simular question. perhraps this will be a good place to ask. i'm wanting to use pwm to control 2 motors. but it seems the wiringpi library only allows for 1 pin? thus controlling only one motor. I need to control 2. correct me if im wrong this is from their website. The original...

Re: can a python file be made to run in a way that is not humanly readable?

That said, most people cannot decompile C code, and there are ways of writing it that make it more difficult to understand (actually, that's most C code anyway) Better yet use Perl, that can be really unreadable! Re: can a python file be made to run in a way that is not humanly readable?

Easy solution - rewrite it in Python 3 with a few decorators and async calls and that'l make it unreadable! Sorry - old time Python2er having a bad day with Python3 today :) In all seriousness, there have been many requests like this over the years and without going to tremendous lengths like creat...

Not possible. Even the *.pyc files can be decoded back to source code.
well that kinda blows. what about c? does that compile into an executable file?

can a python file be made to run in a way that is not humanly readable? a py file can be ran from command line. but it can also be opened in ide. this is all i know. but I would need to make it so customers can not just read the source code.

Re: Don't seem to be getting any output from pins. what did i do wrong?

That would suggest your motor drive board is dropping 4.5v or more across the transistors that are on it. If you tried the same test on the laptop power supply and linear actuator and you measure the input voltage to the motor drive board as well , taking one from the other would tell you how much ...

ill pick out a different controller when i get further along in the project. when i hook them up directly, they spin. not as fast as if they were at 12v. but spins enough to know the motor is working So you only have 4.5v to start with and there will be some volt drop across the motor drive board, which is why I asked if you measured the voltage at the motor terminals, I wo...

Like a loop that would run every half second.
What programming language are you using?
well..... im not sure. my first instinct is to use python because that's where ill have the most support. but C does have the advantage of speed.
