Re: PC's are boring

@ Barnaby Walters

But it's not the same!

The ability to run windows is very useful, and now that macs are using intel, I can triple boot osx, linux, and windows. (And a variety of others OSes)

Re: Raspberry Pi in an iMac G4?

The lcd for an Imac g4 uses a mipi dsi protocol, which might allow it to be connected directly to the pi.

Re: PC's are boring

<t>@ the person who was disappointed by his mac mini, I know how you feel. Mi padre has one, and for certain things it is a very nice computer, but it tends to sag in graphics or IO heavy areas. An ssd would help with general usability.<br/> <br/> Mac were cooler when they were ppc, and the rainbow ...

Re: Minecraft

Most of the memory sucking done by minecraft has been because of mods or memory leaks( which seem to be a lot less frequent in the full version). It can run stable (Without mods) on only 256m ram, and without sound on 128m. The main bottlenecks seem to be graphics and storage.

<t>@ sylvan<br/> <br/> Robot C. We use it on my robotics team, and my only x86 computer is a desktop at home that is not very useful for on the fly debugging, and all of my other computers are ppc g3s. Re: Windows on R-Pi

<t>Could something like Darwine work on the raspberry pi? Last time I checked, they had managed to get some windows programs working on ppc without emulation, but stopped because byte swapping would be too difficult. Since x86 and ARM are both little endian architectures (I think), would Darwine for...

Re: Wishes for 2nd gen Raspberry Pi

If anything would be added to a second generation raspberry pi, the item at the top of my list would be a high speed interface such as pata, sata, scusi, firewire, or thunderbolt. One that allows the connection of storage devices with low overhead and high throughput.
