Keyboard + WiFi thingy only. I'll try connecting with a crossover cable direct to the PC to see what happens.

Slow SSH and SFTP over WiFi

Hey y'all, On a fresh arch install on a Pi with WiFi I've enabled ssh and configured the network stuff, and did little more than changing the keyboard settings. When I try to connect to the Pi from my PC connected to the same network via SSH and SFTP everything is really slow, and eventually the con...

Re: Presentation on CG

I've updated the repository in case anyone is feeling like wasting some time. Now you should be able to see whole sentences on the screen, and also compile it with the latest version of the raspberry pi libs. Mouse buttons to change pages and middle mouse or CTRL-C to kill it ;)

I'm not so sure about that. I hope that at least the code will be useful for some ;)

Anyway I'm still open to suggestions about content and stuff.

Presentation on CG

I'll be doing a 30 mintues presentation about graphics programming on the RPi, in about a month or so. If you have any idea or suggestion let me know.

Re: glDiscardFramebufferEXT crashes

In the specification is stated that you can use it with the default framebuffer, it can have no effect if the specified buffer is not available (I've also tried with just GL_COLOR_EXT), but even then in under no circumstances the function should crash! At most it should have no effect. I'll try it w...

glDiscardFramebufferEXT crashes

Code: Select all

static const GLenum attachments[3] =
{
	GL_COLOR_EXT,
	GL_DEPTH_EXT,
	GL_STENCIL_EXT
};

glBindFramebuffer(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, 0);
glDiscardFramebufferEXT(GL_FRAMEBUFFER, 3, attachments);
Has anyone managed to use glDiscardFramebufferEXT? The above code gives segfault.

Re: Best way to time this chip?

What's the fastest thing to time the RPi? The aforementioned functions which I usually use on Linux could probably be faster on a fixed platform like the RPi. There's probably a couple of registers we can peek.

Does raspberry pi support sRGB on OpenGL ES 2.0 (glEnable(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_SRGB))? Will it ever support with driver updates?

Half!

Greetings people of the internet! I come in a mission to ask for your fastest float to half conversion code! Please? =)

I can only find SSE optimized functions... not very useful on the Pi.

Re: video capture (em28xx) not working on arm?

Did you manage to get easycap working?
I'm trying to get an easycap thing working on the RPi, using a kernel compiled with easycap support but I had no success so far. The device gets detected, it gets listed on usb-devices output, but no /dev/video* appears. Any hints on how to get it working?

Broken after a reboot via SSH?

After installing a few packages on Arch Linux and playing around a bit I decided to reboot via SSH, after that every light but PWR went black. I disconnected every cable (HDMI, network, USBs and power) and reconnected them and nothing seems to be working. Only the power light comes on. Is this suppo...

Shared memory tricks?

I'm not used to coding graphics on devices with shared memory, so I would like to know if it's possible to get pointers to the memory allocated by GL, and access it with the CPU while the GPU does it's stuff. Also stuff like tricking the GPU to use a VertexBuffer as a FrameBuffer in order to simulat...

Re: It seems it's impossible to buy one in Portugal

Farnell only sells to companies here, and besides that there's a minimum order value of €30 without VAT! So that makes impossible for me to buy one at least until it's possible to buy more than 1.

Just so you know, I guess.

Just use Wings 3D. It's much easier to use and learn, also lighter, than Blender. That if you just want it for 3D modeling.

<t>This is something I wouldn't mind working on. I'm sure it can be done, and will be done (if the raspberry pi really sells enough to get a decent user base, *cof cof*). RAM might be a problem, however it can be sidesteped by using low res textures. Even with textures as low res as the ones used in...
