Re: How to setup Minecraft 1.15.2 on Pi4

This only works if you are still using the default 'pi' user. I created a custom user with the username 'dominic03', and to make it work I had to change all instances of '/home/pi' to '/home/dominic03'. Otherwise I get a 'cannot find or load main class' error.

Can you make a tutorial for Minecraft Forge too? I have some mods I'd like to play with. (14.23.5.2847 or later would be good because that's where a lot of mods run)

There's viewtopic.php?f=66&t=254027, but fair warning: it's a bit alpha. The thread's worth a read.
That's actually the exact topic I tried following, but it didn't work.

Re: Pi4 64-bit raspbian kernel for testing - Focus on Pi4

The aarch64 kernel works nice on my overclocked Pi4/4GB. However, I have not been able to install any ARM64 applications due to the lack of ARM64 packages in apt. When installing .deb files it says that many of the dependencies are not installable. I tried an expirimental ARM64 apt list, but it didn...

Re: Pi4: No video whatsoever on first-ever boot

A problem I had with my new Pi4 was the mHDMI connector. It was too short and the case made the mHDMI port hard to connect to. Try running it without the case. If that works, try pushing the Pi over to the mHDMI connector by pushing the connector in and pushing the ethernet port to the side of the c...

That solution fixed the problem, thanks! However, is there any way to change the settings without the described problems occuring?

Can't resize windows or close them by clicking the X after I used the 'Openbox Configuration Manager'

I used the 'Openbox Configuration Manager' application to change a few openbox settings, and now I can't resize or move windows or close them with the X, even after reverting the changes! I've had this problem before, and the only way I fixed it was by reinstalling. Do I need to reinstall again? (Th...

Re: Trouble Getting HDMI Output From RPi4

If your HDMI cable connections are flaky, the RPi is probably not reading the monitor EDID information reliably. In this case you can force a particular resolution by adding the following to config.txt on the PINN partition (create it if it doesn't exist): hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080 hdmi_group=2 h...

Re: Trouble Getting HDMI Output From RPi4

My Raspberry Pi 4 that I got yesterday has no output from HDMI 0 when using PINN, unless I leave it unplugged and plug it in after the Pi starts up. Then I get very low resolution video, with messed up colors. Note that if it is plugged in while booting, HDMI 0 gives a black screen while HDMI 1 give...

Re: Rpi4 On/Off Switch

You could try pi-top device manager, which fully cuts power to the pi when you click shutdown. (You can right click the battery and remove it from the panel after install and reboot). This should allow you to shut down the fan on power off.

Code: Select all

sudo apt install pt-device-manager

ewww NTFS

It might work better using FAT32. You could also check and make sure the drive's permissions in /media is only owner/group=(your username)

Raspberry Pi 3+ 55 degree idle

I left my Pi 3B+ to idle for about 15 minutes and when I came back it was at 55 degrees.
The only background tasks that might use CPU were pt-device-manager and LXPanel.
My Pi was booted to GUI.

The load averages were 0.19, 0.22, 2.32

Is 55 degrees normal for and idle temperature on the 3B+?

Write "sudo amixer -c n cset numid=3 x" where n is the number your sound card has as seen in alsamixer, and x the desired output (0 for auto, 1 for jack and 2 for HDMI). Worked for me. Worked for me too. I realise I'm resurrecting an old thread but I wanted to thank you for your advice. I have trie...

Re: Slow web browser

I would be interested to learn what is different between a terminal command and run command . The run button is to run a single line of code without a terminal window (so it would be unsuitable for command-line apps). Running from the terminal would get command line output too. For example, sudo ra...
