Re: Arch Linux ARM "startx" failing to work

Suddenly, while I was almost finished setting Arch Linux ARM (arch2 port for RPi), "startx" returned error (1) with more actions from Xinit. I remember a line that said "Connection Refused". Is it possible you simply ran out of disk space? Otherwise, you are going to have to pay more attention to t...

Help?

... install a desktop environment or use Manjaro Linux.
Manjaro Linux is more useful on a 4GB RAM rPi4

I clearly said RPi 3 model B.

Re: Arch Linux ARM "startx" failing to work

I know about it being command-line, I saw people get desktop on it, and Manjaro is not of my preference.
I was installing Cinnamon dwm, is that the problem? Does Cinnamon not work on RPi?

Re: Resize PINN Partitions Using Gparted

I tried that before. It froze on the installer, and every single partition became visible through Windows Explorer (therefore with a billion popups about that a drive needs to be formatted)

Resize PINN Partitions Using Gparted

I am trying to resize the systems that I installed on my 256gb SD card using Gparted. I know how to resize the partitions, but I cannot tell which system is which, e.g. mmcblk0p7. Can somebody help me understand which one is which, if I quad-boot Raspbian, OSMC, RetroPie, and Arch2, and also reserve...

Re: NOOBS...

In addition to HawaiianPi's questions: How did you unzip NOOBS (Native Windows tools, or 7zip or ...) What cable do you use to connect to your monitor - HDMI or composite? NOOBS was designed to be easier to burn an OS image to an SD card for new users who are more used to a Windows environment. Mos...

It will create multiple partitions - after flashing did you actually put the sd card in the Pi and turn it on ?
Yes, I needed root permissions to turn it off later, when I was on Raspbian. I want NOOBS though...

Re: NOOBS...

Which model of Raspberry Pi? Which version of NOOBS? What SD card are you using (capacity, brand, model)? What are you using for a power supply? What kind of monitor or display are you using? Like others, I also recommend you download the latest Raspbian image and write it to your card with the Etc...

Just use standalone Raspbian Stretch with Desktop and create a card using Etcher...
Etcher does not work; it corrupted my SD card. My 64-gig. SD card became only 43 megabytes.

NOOBS...

I want to install my Raspberry Pi using NOOBS. I only have a stable red light. The monitor I use says, "No Input." My file system is FAT32. I used the recommended SD Card Formatter to format it, and followed all the steps carefully. Nothing. On my last attempts, I tried to copy config.txt from Raspb...

Re: Howto install wine without exagear?

Use Pi386, a free x86 chroot environment, already set up and ready to use. viewtopic.php?t=226376 A couple of people have reported issues with the custom kernel (with the 3G/1G memory split required to use WINE). To avoid kernel errors, use Eltechs' WINE 2G/2G version instead (it might be from Elte...

I decided to name my Forums account WCHD (World Cup HotDogs), but then I realized that WCHD (99.9) is a radio station! How do I change my account username now?

Howto install wine without exagear?

Hi! I just installed my Raspberry Pi. I want to download BitDefender, but it is an .exe file. Wine needs ExaGear to run on RPi, but ExaGear is too expensive. How do I install Bitdefender without wine and without exagear?
