Re: Radar Project Using Ultra Sonic Sensor

So when I try running it in Thonny IDE I get: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/pi/Documents/radar.py", line 7, in <module> import cv2 File "/usr/local/lib/python3.5/dist-packages/cv2/ init .py' , line 3, in <module> from . cv2 import * ImportError: libQtTest.so.4: cannot open shared o...

Re: Radar Project Using Ultra Sonic Sensor

I've tried to implement another source code to try and get this to work. Unfortunately I kept running into compiling errors If you don't or won't tell us what actual "compiling errors" you get, what code you are using, what program you have, then no one can really help you, even if they wanted to. ...

Re: Radar Project Using Ultra Sonic Sensor

Please keep being kind to each other (we demand that here) and stop making such a fuss over using the wrong terminology, yeah we all know that radar means that radio waves are used, and that sonar is using sound waves. Once the data is captured, you can use a very similar program to visualise the d...

Re: Radar Project Using Ultra Sonic Sensor

The HR-04 sensor is supported by the gpiozero libary https://gpiozero.readthedocs.io/en/stable/api_input.html?highlight=sr04#distance-sensor-hc-sr04 Thank you, I am aware of the code that is used to run the sensor for its intended purpose but the project I am referring to uses a radar application. ...

sonar, not radar.
The project implements a radar application, if you're here to respond to posts with a smart ass response and nothing else then you should go to Reddit. This forum is utilized for educational and research purposes.

Re: Radar Project Using Ultra Sonic Sensor

I have already created several projects using the HC-SR04 to measure distance, and to be used as a indicator. None of these responses answered my main question. I'm not going to go out and buy another sensor when I know I can utilize this as a radar. I simply need help with the coding to create this...

Radar Project Using Ultra Sonic Sensor

Hello, so I have been trying to figure out the working code to create a radar using the Raspberry Pi 3+ and a HC-SR04 sensor. I have not found much luck, specifically for the coding that goes behind this. Most references are for the Arduino, so that doesn't help much. I have everything wired and I a...

Re: HC-SR04, 16x2 LCD, and three LED lights

You are my frickn' hero! This code works perfectly, did not even have to make one single change. Thank you so much my friend, you don't understand how grateful I am right now!! You're the best!

Re: HC-SR04, 16x2 LCD, and three LED lights

That would be great, I'm going to continue to see if I can get Adafruit_CharLCD for python 3. Also, mess around with trying to get this code to run properly. Thank you.

Re: HC-SR04, 16x2 LCD, and three LED lights

You are a life saver my friend. I believe the example is running on Python 2, like I stated in my first post I am still very new to coding. But when I try to run it with my Thonny IDE it throws an error, when I run it with terminal, all is well. #!/usr/bin/python # Example using a character LCD conn...

Re: HC-SR04, 16x2 LCD, and three LED lights

So at this point I'm completely lost and frustrated as to why nothing I have been trying is even working. I researched all that I could and tried several different scripts to get this thing to even run. At this point I have just tried to just get it to pull up the distances with only the ultrasonic ...

Re: HC-SR04, 16x2 LCD, and three LED lights

I'm using Thonny, it was already preinstalled on the Raspian OS. I will try running it through CMD and see what happens, I wasn't exactly sure if my code checks out, that was my main concern.

HC-SR04, 16x2 LCD, and three LED lights

Hello, I am brand new to this forum and still relatively new to working with the Pi. I am working on a project that consists of the HC-SR04 Ultrasonic sensor, a 16x2 LCD display, and three LED lights. So far the code works with the sensor and LED lights, but I just started messing around with the 16...
