Re: Is NAT needed for an internal wifi?

Right! You were %100 correct. I shot myself in the foot setting both pi with 10.0.0.X. I tcpdumped on the pi3 and even though I saw packets flow *in* I assumed it was not routing *out* to the pi4! Having changed the pi3 'net to 10.3.3.X and setting an explicit route on pi4 back to the pi3 net it DOE...

Is NAT needed for an internal wifi?

Hi All Here's my home Lan/wifi setup: https://i.stack.imgur.com/hs888.png Everything is working great! But here's my question: On the (raspberry) pi3 I am now using a bridge for hostapd to connect up to the TP link switch; the bridge is eth0 and wlan0 both using a 192.X address. I get that (let's ca...

For giggles I got a 'TP-Link AC750 WiFi Range Extender (RE220). Dropped about 15 dBm and about -39 dBm

I was happy before but now and very happy.

I'd be very happy with -53dBm at 45ft obstructed on 5GHz.

One thing I noticed is its sometimes worth reducing the bandwidth on longer hauls
OK thank you very much for the sanity check!

Am I being unreasonable? (wifi connection issues)

Howdy - Just got my pi 4 with 8 gb for my COVID project :D . Son is remote learning and my router (TP link AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Router Model No. Archer A5) stopped broadcasting 5Ghz SSID all of a sudden after 8 months. An inexpensive ($30) router but was doing the job. I figured, get a pi, inst...

Re: Brand new Pi 4 Cannot see Micro SD Card(s)?

I have used a pi before so I strongly believe I inserted the sd adapter properly What SD adapter? You don't need an adapter to plug a micro SD into a Pi (other than the original Pi 1 A/B which used a full-sized SD card). You are putting the card in the SD card slot on the Pi, aren't you? You're not...

Brand new Pi 4 Cannot see Micro SD Card(s)? [solved]

Hi All Just got a new Pi 4 8 GB from Vilros and put it in a Vilros aluminum case using a Vilros power supply. Formatted my sd card from an older pi 3 and put NOOBS lite on it. Hooked it up to a monitor and I see this: piboot.jpg . I tried 2 diff uSD cards: Samsung (MB-ME128GA/AM) 128GB 100MB/s (U3) ...

Re: Portable Power Bank for Raspberry Pi 3

Are there are suggestions for a specific product (not a website) available in the US?

I'd love to hear from someone who has bought a portable power solution - at any cost - to avoid ruining my pi.

Thanks!

You're right - specifically it's the sd card adapter that has the light - it's the default one from the Abox

Maybe I just need to find a card adapter w/o one :)

Clever Solution for the Micro SD light?

I have a pi 3 - love it! And a microsd card that's great as well. It blinks though - so at night is a little bit of a pain. I have put some cloth over it w/o covering the air flow - but it's not exactly elegant. I searched but didn't really find a way to a) turn off the micro sd flashing or b) some ...

In really short terms, you are a %100 right!

Raspberry Pi 3b+- keeping wlan0 up w/multiple network devices?

My goal is to have a setup like this: Cable modem<----eth0 NIC#1---(rasp PI)<----eth1 NIC#2---(wireless router)<---PCs/laptops/etc Neither eth0 or eth1 will have an IP , but wlan0 will , for ssh / admin access. The network load should be fine, I tried this type of setup as well: https://github.com/m...
