Thanks for the response but I went through all the usual troubleshooting steps already. I have reached the stage where I wonder if it is a firmware problem.

I've tried three camera modules, three different ribbon cables (all formerly working) on my Raspberry Pi 4, but the cameras do not get detected. start_x=1 is in my /boot/config.txt and the ribbon cable is inserted the proper way around. What can I do to further troubleshoot this?
