You are right, that is a overkill!

Just remembered to use one for the inicial testings of the Pi because a have lots of them at home... After the testings i will surelly use a phone charger. There is no need to consume all that power with the PSU.

Is it possible to power the Pi with an ATX PSU from an old computer?
