Re: Security Camera That Emails Files

Can't give you detailed instructions but would like to recommend software called Motion.

Re: Running the Pi with batteries?

Gregor: Hi, if you're planning to use AAA batteries maybe you would be interested with my powering module based on 78S05 voltage regulator. There's link to post about it on my blog: http://sudoxanthippe.wordpress.com/2012/08/05/raspberry-pi-powering-module-edit/ That transformer isn't for you becaus...

Re: Performance problems with Python

Thanks for you replies! I think though that there is no need to create such sophisticated code nowadays, it's probably better (and first of all simplier) to use opengl and get acceleration.

Greetings!

Re: Performance problems with Python

BlackJack thanks! This is what I expected. Really nice tips. Unfortunately that didn't help. I did most of these but now it has only 2 fps more, I guess that this is too much for RPi. Then I found a really nice program called Shed Skin which is able to translate Python to C++. I thought I could use ...

Performance problems with Python

Hello. I wrote my own clone of Pong for Raspberry Pi. It had hideous appearance and poorly gameplay so I decided to modify it a bit. I've added new graphics and couple improvements and now I've got about 15 FPS when I run it on my Raspberry. I think it's my fault. This is actually mi first program i...

PiPong - Raspberry game console

GPIO is amazing! It can be used to control a video game. To test this possibility out I've written a classic Pong clone in Python and I called it PiPong after Raspberry Pi. There is a link if you are interested: http://sudoxanthippe.wordpress.com/2012/08/12/transforming-raspberry-pi-to-game-console/...

VNC is only usable when x server is loaded, I would recommend using SSH (you can use it to operate on x11 as well).

Re: Curiosity..

Well, Raspberry Pi wouldn't be best choice when it comes to sending something to other planet. First of all such device must be really well known, tested for many years. That's the reason why NASA choose old architectures. They need to be sure that they know anything about it, every possible excepti...

Re: Suggestion: Tiny PCB for DC-anything to 5 V DC

I guess that anyone can build something like that: http://sudoxanthippe.wordpress.com/2012/07/29/raspberry-pi-powering-module-7/ There is datasheet of regulator I used (I replaced 7085 to 78s05 today): http://www.st.com/internet/com/TECHNICAL_RESOURCES/TECHNICAL_LITERATURE/DATASHEET/CD00000449.pdf Y...

Re: Stationary balloon with RPi, webcam and 3g module

Hi again! Motion should work out of box so after doing apt-get install motion and then typing motion in console, you should be able to connect to it on ports: 8080 and 8081 (first is for managing it) but only from a localhost. To check if motion is working you can simply type wget 127.0.0.1:8081 on ...

Stationary balloon with RPi, webcam and 3g module

Hi. I'm planing to stream image from webcam attached to RPi which will be connected to the Internet with 3g module. Everything will be mounted on a bunch of balloons flying 50 meters above ground level. I'm going to describe everything on my blog ( http://sudoxanthippe.wordpress.com/ ) to help anyon...
