Re: 64 bit support is coming!

I tried the 64-bit releases, but I wanted to wait until the official release to start using it. The beta has been out for months and I am only guessing that the official release will be very soon.

Re: Pi 4 Case - Argon40 kodi and video playback not working properly.

I think I am basically retarded. The port I was plugging the hdmi into was apparently the wrong one and switching it made the case work just fine. I did not need to change anything in the config.txt. I am glad as this is one of my favorite cases.
Thank you Kemistry.

Re: Pi 4 Case - pi52 ice tower cooler reseting randomly?

I do not know if it matters but under config.txt in the [pi4] section I had the following
hdmi_force_hotplug
Without putting a = 0 or 1 after. I will redo the test to see results. I am going to be running it for an entire week to see if the resetting problem persists.

Re: Pi 4 Case - pi52 ice tower cooler reseting randomly?

I am doing the test right now with: watch -n vngcmd voltage_throttled and there is not problems or throttled response other tan 0x0 I think this may have been Hdmi_cec causing the reset since the only thing I have changed is powering off and unplugging the nvidia shield and the other pi 4 in the arg...

vcgencmd get_throtted
it gave me an error because I left the l off.
I left it on all day today and it definitely did not reset returning only 0x0
I am about to retry with the test being used.

Pi 4 Case - Argon40 kodi and video playback not working properly.

I cannot get kodi, libreelec, or vlc player to work properly on the pi 4 that is inside a argon1 Pi 4 case. I tried numerous times including altering the config.txt file without success. I cannot get audio to work on kodi even though it is load from a pi os fresh install. The operating sytem works j...

Pi 4 Case - pi52 ice tower cooler reseting randomly?

So I was using cpuburn on a Raspberry pi 4 with a full size ice tower cooler to see if it would thermal throttle. The pi will randomly reset itself with cpuburn in use. Without cpuburn the pi will stay on for an extended amount of time. I have it plugged into a 5V power gpio pin. Does anyone know sp...

Re: Use Pi OS to access sd card reader and config.txt on another Pi OS sd card

I do not know what I was doing wrong. I first tried cat /etc/fstab/ and it said I did not have permissions. I entered sudo su and did the exact command and the terminal interface keptspitting out gibberish. This problem OS was on a 16 gb sd card, I did not think that matters. I thought I updated all...

Re: Use Pi OS to access sd card reader and config.txt on another Pi OS sd card

Have you/Is "automount" disabled within the file manager's options Any regular usb flash drive mounts right away (sorry I did not answer that first). Gparted detects the drive, the fat32 and ext4 partition, I just cannot mount them for some reason in gparted or Pi OS. Again I thought this...

Most of this section was written in the early days of Raspbian Wheezy, pre-B+ Pi's, when more than one USB stick required the use of a (powered) external hub
DANG that is old school! My first Pi was a 3 B+

Use Pi OS to access sd card reader and config.txt on another Pi OS sd card

I wanted to change the config.txt on a backup Pi OS sd card using a usb card reader and it will not work on the raspberry. I can access this on a windows PC or even a rock64 running armbian. When I try it in Pi OS it does not mount anything or show up in file manager. It gives me the warning when I ...

why do you even need a 1TB flash drive?

when a 4TB HDD (0.39A) is more reliable
I have absolutely no use for this and it was $200. I do not even think I can put this on another sbc's emmc module due to it bieng UFS 2.1 standard

This is very off topic but I had a extra KLUGGAR1FA-B2C1 BGA153Ball UFS2.1 2.1 TB chip lying around. I was considering buying a cheap 16 Gigabyte flash drive and was going to hot air rework and replace the chip. There are problems that I can think of: 1) Most usb drive plasic cases are held with glu...

I love the raspberry pi foundation. I learn so much about computers and electronics for something that was just a hobby by reading this forum. I thought the entire sd card was encrypted.

I like electronics so much that I think I might get a degree for it.

Re: NTFS file partition?

I was thinking since the NTFS partition is on the SD card is it no longer password protected the same way the raspbian OS is?
If so can a random attacker exploit that if you go online and infect your Raspberry with a virus?

Is it possible to create a NTFS file partition on the micro sd crad used to boot raspian? I need to be able to transfer files over 4 GB and wanted a partition that you don't need to boot from but can still access on the same sd card.

Looking at another post th 360 chat pad may be a good alternative.

I was considering manufacturing such a keyboard that is intended for pocket size do it yourself projects. As long as you can solder it to a uart on the pi and retain a similar form factor to the Ri-tek mkt518
