Re: Tip X-Mas Gift No. 1

i've bought one too,

wanted to replace my shuttle barebone for xmbc, but my receiver doesn't support HDMI.

So needed a good spdif optical card connector, thanks for your suggestion! Haven't received the board yet, but will test as soon it arrives :)

Re: kernel patch for Dallas 1-wire interface

Hi I just downloaded 2012-09-18-wheezy-raspbian and put it on my SDCARD. It has kernel: Linux raspberrypi 3.2.27+ #160 PREEMPT Mon Sep 17 23:18:42 BST 2012 Should this kernel support DS18S20 sensor? When I connect it to a GPIO pin 4 and then do: sudo modprobe w1-gpio sudo modprobe w1-therm I got no...

Re: Power from TV?

Proberbly not.

If connected throug your pc's USB port it will suck more than 500 mA,

i can't imagine your tv's USB port is delevering more than 500 mA, the pi requires at least 700 mA, 1A recommended.

i followed the install instructions, but i can't click anything using lighthttpd. i've modified lighttpd.conf for mod rewrite, php was already working, and sudoers file included www-data i've now got myself an rc.local script addition: echo "4" > /sys/class/gpio/export chmod 0777 /sys/class/gpio/gpi...

Re: Boot fails with attached USB device

Is your PSU (Power Supply Unit) capable of minimal 700mA output? Try booting without USB devices. It's reported that some USB Devices (like keyboard with built-in USB-hub) can draw too much power.

Also there is a maximum output of mA per USB port. i thought about 140mA, not quite sure.
