Re: Is it possible to change overscan_scale on fly?

As far, as I understood from the bash script this string changes the values:

Code: Select all

./overscan $GPU_OVERSCAN_TOP $GPU_OVERSCAN_BOTTOM $GPU_OVERSCAN_LEFT $GPU_OVERSCAN_RIGHT
.

Do I need to run:

Code: Select all

sudo make
, to compile that program?

Re: Is it possible to change overscan_scale on fly?

That is sad. Maybe, it is possible to make a program, which changes overscan values by parameters in option (not interactively like in program above)?

Re: Image File Utilities

If you're running them on Raspbian format images, there's a good change they will work. Run them on a copy the first time, though, to be safe. I make Raspbian images using universal dd utility (raw image, if I am right). In fact, the most I need is image-shrink . Maybe it is better to use PiShrink ...

As far, as I understand, the first utility needs additional clean SD card. That is not what I want. Anyway, what are the original sources of these utilities? Thanks.

If these utilities really work - it is great stuff! 8-)
Thanks.

Re: How can I shrink Raspbian main partition by maximum before backup?

So you're clicking on sdc2 and cannot reduce the amount of free space to 0 or near? When I click "Apply", Gparted will check something and output that error, listed above. I have found that gparted will offer you a minimum size, but will fail when it tries to shrink the partition. Try a few MB larg...

How can I shrink Raspbian main partition by maximum before backup?

With Gparted I have to guess the new size of the partition. If I put the size according to free space, Gparted allows me to put new values, but outputs an error after starting the operation: resize2fs: New size smaller than minimum (2277127) . If it can't use that values, why it can't analyze the pa...

Re: Problem with usbmount in Buster

It looks very strange: I install usbmount from RetroPie script and connect the USB drive. Everything works fine. I totally uninstall RetroPie, but there is left /media/usb0 folder from RetroPie usbmount. And, if I left it there, then the usbmount package, I built by my own, will work fine. If I remo...

Re: What is the minimum and maximum of the overscan parameter in config.txt?

It is possible to calibrate screen if overscan_scale is disabled. But if I enable it, screen size in console and desktop becomes much smaller. In fact my main problem with calibration is this: I connect Pi over Composite, and I have problem with overscan. If I don't use overscan_scale, then screen s...

What's your disable_overscan setting? It is commented out. I just edit config.txt with text editor (mcedit or leafpad). I am using Pi 3 B+ and Buster. And, for example, If (with overscan_scale=1) I put values more than -30 to the bottom the black line don't get thinner. It seems I get even opposite result.

rpcbind setup during Raspbian Buster upgrade

While upgrading, I got some console screen telling about rpcbind remote access configuration with "r" parameter. I hit "q" and upgrade continued. I tried to reinstall rpcbind and all packages, which were upgraded according to apt-get history log, but I can't get the same configuration screen again.

Re: 3.0 USB Thumb drive?

The most common problem with powered USB 2.0 hubs is back-powering the Pi.
Haven't used additional power with them. And they work even in Debian 5 on PC.
Were you planning on using the Patriot flash drive only for storage, or do you want to boot from it?
Only file storage.

Re: Raspbian and USB hub Westrom HV-H18 (214b:7000) only one port works

This hardware has really strange behavior. 1. When the black hub (normal) is connected to the white hub (buggy), the black hub and keyboard connected to it will work in every port of the white hub: https://pp.userapi.com/c834402/v834402267/456cb/759wjaVRueU.jpg 2.
