Re: 3.0 USB Thumb drive?

The most common problem with powered USB 2.0 hubs is back-powering the Pi.
Haven't used additional power with them. And they work even in Debian 5 on PC.
Were you planning on using the Patriot flash drive only for storage, or do you want to boot from it?
Only file storage.

Re: Run script at login of specific user only

I can get my script to run by putting it in the etc/profile but then it runs every time the pie reboots and stops the video looper how can I make this script run specifically only when I log in as George? Then, I think, you can use hidden file .profile , which is located in profile's home folder. Y...

Re: 3.0 USB Thumb drive?

What "compatibility problems" did you have (specific details, please)? I didn't try many Flash Drives with Pi, so didn't have problems with Flash Drives, yet (except mp3 player, which uses not ordinary USB Flash Driver). But there was problems with other USB devices, which work on PC. Only one port...

Has anybody tried Patriot Slate flash drives with Pi? Because, I already had compatibility problems with one US...

Re: Kodi Frrezzing during playback of streams

I have similar problem. I have two different streams from the same server. One works normally. The other freezes after 10 - 20 seconds of playing. No matter, I am using IPTV Simple add-on, or playing standalone file with link to the stream. Both streams play normally from console omxplayer. I have K...

I am using Raspbian Jessie (RetriPie). How to make bluetooth powered off by default (so, that I could power it on using bluetoothctl) or, at least, make bluetoothctl to remember "power" parameter state after reboot?

Re: Raspbian and USB hub Westrom HV-H18 (214b:7000) only one port works

This hardware has really strange behavior. 1. When the black hub (normal) is connected to the white hub (buggy), the black hub and keyboard connected to it will work in every port of the white hub: https://pp.userapi.com/c834402/v834402267/456cb/759wjaVRueU.jpg 2. Raspbian and USB hub Westrom HV-H18 (214b:7000) only one port works

I've bought this USB hub resently because of it design and price. On PC, in Windows and Linux, keyboard, for example, works in every port. But in Raspbian, on Raspberry Pi 1 and 2 only one port of the hub is working (I've connected the only keyboard in every port in course). lsusb identifies the hub...

Re: Raspbian binaries now available (MESS, MAME, neogeo)

could you try running chmod +x gngeo and seeing if that works? That sets the gngeo binary to be executable. The problem is that it is executable (chmod 775). It is there - I can change it's attributes, change name, even open it with mcedit, for example, but when I am trying to run it - it acts as i...

But how can I configure display resolution then?

And, especially, how to calibrate composite TV: in old version the picture is too big to fit the screen, in new it has relatively big black strips up and down and doesn't fit a bit left and right yet.

Re: Faster sdcard backup&restore

IMHO you can't, because dd is going to image everything on the sd, also the "blank" space after your shrinked partition. You could play with partition size and dd only the useful part, but since partimage was written for that, I don't see why one shouldn't use it. I've told that I'm planning to use...

Re: Faster sdcard backup&restore

I've shrinked the partition on 16GB SD Card
Can I now make image using dd with count parameter to make an image of only boot and data partitions?

Can I use dd to backup SD on raspberry itself, or i need to put SD to another system?
Can I save image to the third partition of SD?

Don't have xorg.conf in raspbian

I don't have xorg.conf file in raspbian. And I can't generate it.
Xorg -configure retunrs: "Server terminated with error (2)"
dpkg-reconfigure Xorg doesn't change anything.

I'm using pal TV-set as screen.

I get the same error. I've tryed on 3 different windows (2000 SP4; XP SP3; 7 SP1) on the same machine.
But the program itself seems to be working (don't know if the SD working or not after, as i've used flashnul)
So it is interesting to know is this error critical or not?

The problem is quite simple. The Pi just can't work with charging only micro-USB cable (no data wires inside) It needs micro-USB cable with full set on wires inside. P.S. As there were ohter people with similar problem, maybe it is better to write about that in FAQ or somewhere else place, if it is ...

Raspberry malfunction - at least keyboard doesn't work.

I've got Raspberry B version. When I start it I allmost can't type - typing every character takes from 10-20 seconds to infinity. The keyboard Num Lock indicator (when I turn it on) flashes all the time ramdomly and then, when it is not glowing I just can't type. As if someone turning on and off key...
