Re: Alternative to mysqldump

I don't mean to "archive objects to another database" but to run the mysqldump command on another host. Right now you are running the mysqldump command on the Pi using something like mysqldump -h 127.0.0.1 -u USER -p DB_NAME > DB_NAME.sql I'm suggesting you run the mysqldump command on another machi...

Re: Alternative to mysqldump

Are you saving the MySQL dumps locally on the Pi? If possible you should save them in a different location; otherwise if your sdcard fails you will lose your running instance and your backups. If saving the backups remotely is an option, you could run mysqldump on the remote machine rather than runn...

Re: When you turn on Raspberry PI 3, there is no autoplay of the Python code.

As I mentioned above your script needs a running graphical interface; that means you need to start your Python script AFTER the graphical interface is initialized.
Did you try to start the script manually after the graphical interface in up? (boot to desktop mode, open a console and start your script)

Re: port routing problems

You already have a firewall in front of your Pi (the router) so why use iptables on the Pi as well? Try to simplify your setup first. OpenVPN will listen on whatever port you set it (and that port will be listed by netstat regardless of iptables rules). Also make sure you are editing the correct con...

Re: Calculate GPS position offset using roll, pitch, yaw and length

The direction (heading) is given by yaw; the raw values I'm getting from the IMU are in the [-180,180] interval but this can be easily translated to [0,360].
Here are values for yaw:

Code: Select all

yaw = 0 //North
yaw = 90 //East
yaw = 180 //South
yaw = 270 //West
yaw = 360 //North

Re: Calculate GPS position offset using roll, pitch, yaw and length

The IMU axes are the same as AstroPi's from what I can tell from the image seen here . Considering I need the calculate deltas (dx, dy and dz) to add to the initial position I tried to think of all possible positions and it defines a sphere having the GPS/IMU device as center. To determine the posit...

Re: STICKY: Introduce yourself!

Hello, I'm from Romania; I'm a Linux user and Python developer. I'm using a few Raspberry Pi devices for video surveillance, media center, small website hosting, some home automation (lights, sensor, sound). I created a few RPi projects such as alfred and picamweb which can be found on my github pag...

Re: port routing problems

Hello, Your setup will depend on how your corporate (job) network filters traffic so you will need to test this. Perhaps they only block UDP so you should be able to use TCP for OpenVPN using any port you want (like 1443) and keep Domoticz on port 443. If they block all traffic except packets on por...

Re: When you turn on Raspberry PI 3, there is no autoplay of the Python code.

Hello, Does your Pi boot into console mode or desktop mode? I haven't used OpenCV ( cv2 ) but the code suggests it needs to create a window ( cv2.imshow ) so you will need to have a running deskkop environment for that to work. Try to boot in desktop mode and test your Python script; if that works, ...

Calculate GPS position offset using roll, pitch, yaw and length

Hello, I'm using a Reach RS+ device connected via Wifi to a Raspberry Pi3. The Pi reads from Reach the GPS position and IMU data (in the form of roll , pitch and yaw - the IMU data processing is done on the Reach device using RTIMULib2 ). The Reach device is mounted on a rod as you can see on the ma...
