@ Brandon92 :) once again thank you so much for the reply and more advice, you're absolutely right, i will try to test with a multi-meter as you've instructed and explained, i will need to solder up a sewing needle though to some crocodile clips then attach the crocodile clips to my multi-meter test...

I think before you are going to buy parts. Is a good idea to measure witch one is defect and witch parts are still good. You could do this by using a multimeter and measure different parts. And this can indicate if the Rpi is really really dead or the protection parts are damaged. Or it is half dea...

You have a bill of materials that's going to cost more than £35 (some of which are not available in quantities of one unit).
