I'd surmise that the 5.3 kernel is just not mature enough yet. Probably won't be playing nice until at least 5.3.25 I would guess. Same for 5.4. A little off-topic but I was just reading that Buster will push out on July 6th (https://wiki.debian.org/ReleasePartyBuster) if no showstopper bugs are found. Probably not likely to help much but is it any different under 4.19.46? Upgrading to 4.19.46 is going to be a problem. I use this Raspberry Pi for daily use so if I have issues with the kernel I may lose some data. For the time being I only update with apt-get update (rather than rpi-updat/upgrade)...

Surprisingly, 4.19 is not substantially more performant. :cry: Too bad. Here's hoping later 4.19.x kernels and a final Buster can regain *some* performance in the future....
