Re: Real time kernel patch

Yes, that's what I mean. Thing is I get the attached error when trying to apply the patch.

Re: Real time kernel patch

Nope, I don't mean anything like Conley. I'm talking about a real time kernel for real time operation. In my case, I'm working with the powerlink protocol, which needs a real time kernel.

Real time kernel patch

Hey guys! I'm fairly new to Raspberry. I have a Pi 3 and I need to have a real time kernel. Actual version as seen from uname -r is 4.14.69-v7+. I've recompiled it as per these isntructions https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/linux/kernel/building.md with the only difference being that I used ...

Enabling real time kernel in Ubuntu MATE

Hi everyone. I'm running Ubuntu MATE on my Raspberry Pi 3 and I need to work with OPENPOWERLINK protocol. In order to do that, I need to enable the real time kernel. Current version of the kernel is 4.4..38-v7. I've searched the forum but only found old stuff about a patch for 4.14. Is it possible t...

Re: POWERLINK

Looks like the easiest way to me, so I'm gonna try. Of course, if you have any suggestions please, PLEASE share them!

Re: POWERLINK

My idea is, and please correct if I'm wrong, to use the desktop versione to "get to know" what I'm talking about, and then once that's done I'm gonna move to the Raspberry. I'm gonna do this because it's easier for my work flow to work on a desktop and then move to a Raspberry. Edit: I know the conc...

Re: POWERLINK

I know it's all Ethernet, but the requirements are different and I need to be able to tell the client that the specific protocol is fine, not just the Ethernet. Anyway, I'm going to try and install it on a VM in order to deal with the major problems (missing packages and similar) not a desktop, the...

Re: POWERLINK

Thing is I don't actually need anything, apart from proving that it can work with the "cable" we made. Basically, only a master and a slave communicating with this protocol to verify that it works fine.

Re: POWERLINK

Some non-technical suggestions: Ask the developer/maintainer for an RPi3-compatible version. Buy a $35 RPi2 to run the released version. Or, my preferred option: be prepared to do some learning and try the released version on your RPi 3 and modify/adapt it as necessary until it works. Already tried...

Re: POWERLINK

Have you actually tried the instructions using Raspbian Jessie or Stretch as the Operating System ? Forgive me, but I couldn't find the passages you are referring to. I have looked at all the setup process and then googled if this could fit the Pi 3. All the answer I've found say that it is not wor...

Re: POWERLINK

Yes. While the documentation is quite good, as far as I've read on the internet that doesn't work with Pi 3, which is the only model we have. POWERLINK

Hello everyone! As I said in the presentation topic, I'm new to the forum and to the world of Raspberry in general, while I have some experience with Ubuntu. So, basically what I need is a way to verify that the POWERLINK protocol is working as it should without losing packages. To do that, I'd like...
