Re: Have experience with Raspberry Pi? Interested in IoT?

Hi, Lot of things happening in this field now. Have you seen this ? Seems to be a huge project including Raspberry Pi Computer Boards, lot of plug-in modules , BACnet that they say will be open source, MQTT. I'm quite amazed actually. They also seem to be targeting the same audience as you....see he...

Re: [GUIDE] Raspbian Lite with LXDE/XFCE/MATE/Openbox GUI

Hi, I don't understand why I should use this Raspian Lite + extra GUI instead fo using Raspina, as this article says that Raspian is using 93MB while the least consuming Lite + extra GUI is using 97MB. Well 93 < 97, so if I 'm not concerned about disk storage, full blown Raspian is the best choise, ...

Hi,
If it is available, where is it available?
What do you mean by "SoC"?

Cloning the RPi

Hi,
Is the RPi open source hardware like the Beagleboard?
If not will it ever be?
Does there exist "All You Need to Create a RPi Clone" page somewhere like the one that exist for the [Beagleboard (http://www.cnx-software.com/2011/11/05/ ... one-clone/)?

POCO on RaspBerry Pi

Hi, Has anyone tried to build POCO (http://pocoproject.org) on RaspBerryPi with Raspian. I just tried to make it and got this error message after compiling all the files: ** Compiling src/pcre_tables.c (debug, shared) ** Compiling src/SyslogChannel.cpp (debug, shared) ** Building shared library (deb...

Re: GPIO Programming and Interrupts

Thanks for the quick answare. Yes this sloved my linking broblem. I shall try to get used to not using .exe :-) So for those that want the valid compilation command it is: cc -o wfi wfi.c -L/usr/local/lib -lwiringPi -lpthread It works grate. One question regarding the code I do not understand fully:...

Re: GPIO Programming and Interrupts

Gordon, I tried to compile your wfi.c example such: cc -o wfi.exe wfi.c -I/usr/local/include -L/usr/local/lib -lwiringPi But got this error message: /usr/local/lib/libwiringPi.a(piThread.o): In function `piThreadCreate': piThread.c:(.text+0x18): undefined reference to `pthread_create' collect2: ld r...

Re: GPIO max current

Thanks for your replay jbeale. The link was very usefull. However it confuses me also as the child school equation V = IR is burned in my head. When a GPI pin is configured as output, it can be looked at as a voltage source but not current source. Therefore teh outside resitance controls the current...

GPIO max current

Hi,
A simple question, that I can't find any clear answare for:
What is the maximum current allowed from a GPIO pin?

I also se different numbers for the maximum allowed current for the 3v3 pin (pin 1). Anyone clear over what the maximum is.

TJ
