Re: WiFi - Just about ready to throw my pi at the wall!

I'm not spending another 20 quid. So far I have purchased hdmi cable, dvi adapter, powered usb hub, mini wifi keyboard, case, sd card, ebooks, monitor switcher..... I am not throwing more money at it.

Re: WiFi - Just about ready to throw my pi at the wall!

Funnily enough I did try Ethernet-ing the pi to a second (same as my main router) Netgear DG834N and tried the advanced Wireless options but also no joy, probably because it isn't quite as simple as the web interface suggests.

Re: WiFi - Just about ready to throw my pi at the wall!

I am using:

2012-08-16-wheezy-raspbian Netgear wg111v2 I also have a v3 but seem to remember reading v2 worked I believe they both use the realtek chip. I could also if needed use an edimax EW7711.

I am using a 'Strand' 7 port powered hub.

Cheers

Re: WiFi - Just about ready to throw my pi at the wall!

Hi Mr. Dave

That looks interesting....

Can you tell me how to get the file from a Win-PC, where to save it on the SD card, (remembering I can only see the directory that contains kernel.img on the PC), and how to install once on the pi?

Sorry to be a pain but I know SFA about Linux.

Cheers

WiFi - Just about ready to throw my pi at the wall!

I so want to love my pi..... But dear lord it's hard. I have spent hours trying to get it to work, following the examples from 'Meet the raspberry Pi'. All to no avail. I did consider trying to post some of the files and screen output here but when I load the SD card on to my Win-PC the files I alte...

Re: Delivery Woes

Yes it does sound like you had a bad one. Mine is rock solid and there is NO movement of the raspi board. You mention 6 pieces, there is of course 7 for this case, the inner part of the Ethernet cut-out is shaped to place on the bottom of the board under the Ethernet connector (see top right corner ...

Re: Delivery Woes

Well, the case arrived three days later (Pibow take note!) and I am very pleased, the quality is excellent. The acrylic panels were protected both sides so all were squeaky clean upon peeling. Easy-peasy to put together, all the apertures are a sensible size and line up perfectly, it’s a doddle to t...

Delivery Woes

The delivery date on my pibow has just gone back yet again so I have cancelled and ordered one of these instead: http://www.bit.ly/NEBKQU. I’ll let you know if it is any good when it arrives.
