Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

That's awesome! Great job. By 'latest' you mean Raspbian 2012-09-18, right? I tried it on 2012-08-16 and it didn't work. No, I actually meant 2012-08-16 and I hadn't seen the later. I am about to test it with 2012-09-18... ... and yes, the display_rotate tweak works ok. I am now installing screenly...

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

Exactly: Adding display_rotate=3 to your config.txt will do the trick and then changing resolution on viewer.py Not sure if omxplayer will work though as I have only tested web sites and still pictures... Thanks Clifor. I've pushed an update to Screenly that enables you to set the resolution in Scr...

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

I did that change some time ago and it worked without problems at least for web sites and pictures... We have never had the need of a vertical full HD video ;) Cool. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. So you just flipped the resolution in viewer.py and rotated X11? Exactly: Adding display_ro...

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

Hi, thank you for creating Screenly its great! I had a quick question. I have rotated the display 90 degrees to use for a front store marketing screen. This is causing large black borders on the top and bottom of the screen. I can fix these manually by dragging the borders, but I was wondering if t...

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

Yeah, that's a decent work around, but if you do a fresh install of Raspberry "wheezy" you can do that on the first boot (by running 'sudo raspi-config'). That's a lot easier than manually having to jump through the hoops. True, but since I had made some changes, like having a new kernel so I can r...

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

Update : I pushed a major fix to Screenly today that fixes video playback. It must have broken in some earlier update. To update, simply do: cd ~/screenly git pull pkill -f "viewer.py" Hi Viktor I am getting a an error when trying to get the latest version error: Your local changes to the following...

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

This is just a comment about the duration of the assets.

If you set duration up as a large number, it would take that long for the viewer to realize there has been a change in the playlist.

Am I right?

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

Thanks for the prompt answer :) Can you ping the address from the Raspberry Pi? What kind of asset are you trying to add? Is it just a plain HTML-page? Could you also post the content of /var/log/supervisor/screenly*.log ? And yes, I was able to ping the address and the asset was just a plain HTML-p...

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

Hi all First of all, thank you for your effort and sharing :) I have managed to install Screenly without problems but I get the following error when trying to add new contents with a local URL (i.e. http://192.168.1.60:7070) Error 500: Internal Server Error Sorry, the requested URL 'http://192.168.1...

Re: RPi in portrait mode

Just tried Dom proposal and it worked fine so far :) Could you explain it a bit further?

I am doing several test with the RPi connected to a 46'' Samsung screen and looks awesome for the price :)
