Re: How To: IRC Server w/ No-IP

Next project should be getting services setup using anope, putting znc on a second pi to use as a bouncer and also check out weechat as a cli based irc client, it's awesome! (irssi is good, but weechat is much easier to use)

Thanks for the post!

Re: Run Raspberry Pi as an NTP server

I'm actually looking to create a stratum 1 ntp server for my network using a GPS module but I'm guessing that's beyond your request, if you are just trying to have a single reference clock for your network the post above has it listed correct, the second to last option in /etc/ntp.conf is all that n...

Re: Post your Raspberry Pi server setup!

I currently have 2 pi's and a few more on the way. I've installed opentracker which is an open bit torrent tracker, that I encourage more people who are creating all of these custom images to use. I have the other one running apache serving the home page for twig.gs which is the location of the torr...

Easy Extraction Script for your .bashrc file

I can't remember where I found this addition, it was many years ago, but it's always served me well and makes remembering all of the different options for each extraction method a thing of the past! From your home directory run the command nano .bashrc (or from anywhere if your using the username "p...

Re: Debian "Wheezy" IRC Bouncer

Yep, you would enter that command from a terminal window on your pi.

You might also want to check out znc, as there is a web based config that might make getting it running easier for you. Just another option.

Re: Setting up an BitTorrent tracker

Yea that was part of my thoughts, as well as I know that UDP would also require less resources from the pi being it won't need to do all the handshaking. It is an open tracker however, and I really just want to see how reliable it is with a load, so come on all you image makers! Feel free to use my ...

Five Dollar Off the Shelf Raspberry Pi Case Build

So I've written a post on how I built a case for my Raspberry Pi for about five bucks (not including the paint) using off the shelf parts from a hardware store. You can read that here if you like: http://stinebaugh.info/my-five-dollar-raspberry-pi-case-build/ It's built out of some PVC Electrical bo...

Re: Setting up an BitTorrent tracker

Hopefully there is a demand for this, as like I said, I wanted to do this for a while! And it's done! The tracker is now online and available here: http://twig.gs/ The website is not hosted on the pi, but the tracker is! It's an open tracker, so by all means, feel free to create torrents for your sd...

Re: Setting up an BitTorrent tracker

All of these images I've seen complaints of links being dead, or bandwidth being slim, I think that hosting a tracker for the raspi releases a great idea! I've just finished compiling without errors (using the code from the opentracker site), and will think of hosting a tracker to help spread these ...

Re: Wifi dongle to use with Debian & Rspberry PI

I JUST got my Hawking HWUN3 from amazon and it works right out of the box. No muss no fuss. Plugged it in, a little iwconfig action and poof. wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:off/any Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=20 dBm Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:of...
