Re: PoE HAT, no ethernet on Cisco SG300, but works on SG500

I have the cisco sg300-10mpp.

auto negotiation at gigabit worked ok for my poe hat.
i only had to drop to 100 mb when i use the poe splitters which are only rated at 100mb.
maybe there is some difference between pp and mpp models ?

Re: POE Hat CRC errrors

just checked my switch logs, seems while i was using the poe hat i also had CRC errors, 12842 CRC errors to be exact. seems noise might be the cause of all issues

Re: POE Hat CRC errrors

it seems these hats are noisy where the psu part is concerned, so you crc errors are probably down to the noisy and unclean poe power from the hat.

join the ever growing list of us peeps waiting for news of when to RMA these hats back to pi land.

Re: PoE HAT - USB Ports not working - over-current

i used the spacers provided, my pi poe hat lasted a week before giving over current issues. back using the splitter as there is no issues with that. it also developed a strange whining sound.

Re: The PoE HAT (recommended hardware)

i use a cisco sg300mpp poe switch and a poe splitter https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01H37XQP8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 one word of note, this splitter only works on 100 mbit, so set your port speed to 100 mbit. gigabit port speed will not work with this device. dont rely on ...

Re: ETA for Official POE Hat for 3B+

thanks for posting this...

i bumped the temps up by 5 degrees to get past my pi's idling temp which was around 45, so it kept triggering the fan. now the fan stays off at idle till the pi has some work to do :P

edit increased to 10 degrees, it gets a bit hotter with the case lid on,

Re: ETA for Official POE Hat for 3B+

have you tried swapping the hats on the pi's to see if the problem follows the hat ? seems a bit strange to get 2 duff poe hats at the same time. dont know much about the poe settings of the ubiquity switch, is there any other options in the advanced section for poe ? on my switch the hat registers ...

Re: ETA for Official POE Hat for 3B+

i would try different rj45 leads, maybe a bad lead.
also try contact cleaner on raspberry pi header pins(turn of pi first :D ), maybe a contact issue if other hats have been on, loose or dirty pins maybe :?:

Re: ETA for Official POE Hat for 3B+

i have just plugged a spare 2.5 inch drive into my pi via a usb 3 sata adapter, seems ok so far. i supply power to my poe hat/pi via a cisco sg300mpp which supports af and at poe standards. with the drive attached, im drawing 4.5 watts but this is at idle. this increased to 8.3 under a short load te...

Having a constant slow speed seems like it might be a good option to try.

Re: ETA for Official POE Hat for 3B+

My POE pi hat arrived this morning, working like a charm but for such a small fan it makes quite a racket  is their any way to change the fans operating range ? Yes, you have full flexibility here. What behaviour do you want from it? When the fan first starts there seems to be a bit of a grati...
