Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

@those who have issues with crackling sound
try rpi-update to incorporate the fix from latest commit (only 3 hours old, https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/ ... 4b969f2caf)
maybe it helps

brgds,

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Hi Helge, Does this only refer only the "local player" function or the 7.8 hf LMS server version??? Greetings, Thomas refers only to "local player"!!! LMS 7.8.0 - 1383129612 @ Wed Oct 30 20:05:30 PDT 2013 works like a charm :) :) [edit :] I installed a fresh raspbian. did rpi-update next (kernel 3....

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Did someone already try the 7.8 with hf support? I'm away from home, so I can't try it right now? Does the local player plugin from Triode work? I tried it a few days ago with the 7.7.3 and it don't work. Squeezelite did not start on system start. Greetings, Thomas hmm, I cannot get it to work eith...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Hi LMS/PI enthusiasts, driven by curiosity I stubmled across this: https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/commit/8c4eb58ee7f4244e1c7a547008561b36d6b40703 which means since Oct. 21st it is now possible to install LMS 7.8.x with a simple dpkg -i <package>. on a RPI using hard float computing (armhf) P...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Seems unlikely that Squeezeplug will ever be updated - the author is 'missing in action'. Pity, as it was a very useful setup routine for squeezebox features. Unfortunately I think your are right :( Squeezeplug will be stuck at version 6.02. truehl is part of the ickstream initiative I believe. (ht...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Castalla Thanks for your speedy response. Yes on the new RPi's. I tried copying the files but it didn't work. I am going to try the tutorial at AllThingsPi. Really what I want is a vortexbox to act as server and RPi's for each room in the house. Hi dalet, if you want vortexbox as a server and the R...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

No idea! Just install 7.8 by using the wget in the AllThingsPi tutorial. You have to do the whole routine from the start - otherwise it won't work. thanks, tomorrow I'll give a try, if 7.8 keeps having the issues I had on 7.7.3 I'll ask for help directly on the slimdevices forum. Hi all, I've been ...

Re: USB FIQ testing....

Right. On the other hand, if USB wasn't needed for network or audio (as the integrated sound card is not great either), I wouldn't be complaining about USB :D. USB actually isn't needed for audio (by that I mean alternatives for HDMI audio and the bad PWM audio stereo output, the PI doesn't have an...

Hello, I feel so awful asking this question. It must be a really silly thing but I can see another person ran into the same problem, and then declared everything OK without posting what fixed it! So, here it goes... I have setup squeezeplug on my raspberry pi and have been successfully been using i...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Has anyone the same issues? I'm running Squeezeplug on my china-made (black audio output) Raspberry Pi and when I install LMS and SqueezeLite only everything works as it should (I used the wheezy work-around for the bug that only the red LED flashes when I plug it in). But as I need Twonky too, I i...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Hi Helge, I have synchronization issues on LMS, and I did read the changelog but aside from reading on forums that the nightly is better on debian it doesn't tell me much. Is there a special procedure to install LMS 7.8 nightly without losing my settings? thank you EDIT: I just read your reply on t...

Re: Updating LMS 7.7.2 to 7.8

Update 1 If you use the squeezeplug LMS installer routine then updating to 7.8 works. (I will use the althingspi routine on a separate Raspian install and report back the results) Update 2 If you want to update the allthingspi Raspian install, then you have to repeat the whole routine (replace the ...

Alright, given my (minor) stability issues with logitech media server I decided to follow the advice I was given earlier in this thread and install a nightly, but I found out that there are two nightly, the 7.7 branch and the 7.8 one. Which one is better on the pi? thank you Hi uluru, I have no sta...

Hello squeezeplug community, i would like to give some feedback on my experience with the Edimax' 7811UN Wifi dongle, which has been discussed in this thread earlier. Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

I had problems setting up the 8711, ended up using the GUI. I've just set up a second pi, without going into the GUI, and compared the wpa_suplicant.conf files. What I found is that the working pi had "proto=WPA", and the non-working "proto=RSN". Changing the non-working to "proto=WPA", reboot, and...

Hey Thomas,

Thx a lot for working so hard! Can hardly wait to unpack but testing will start in 2013. ;)
(By the way, what's driving you, to work so hard on this?)
So far all that remains is to wish you "einen guten Rutsch"

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

@all guys with that problem, are you using version 5.05 (the latest update) before you've installed LMS?
started with 5.0 -> installed LMS -> updated to 5.05 => still running since then (one reboot because LMS stopped for an unknown reason)

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

It looks like most of you agree to my plans to use the official Raspbian and Wheezy images as a platform for SqueezePlug! I forgot to tell you one more disadvantage of switching to the official versions: I can't do this with a normal patch! I have to make a complete new image and there will be no u...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Is there really any need to run LMS in turbo mode? I'm not sure, but I had problems with the Wifi Dongle (Edimax EW-7811Un). It was rediscovered very often ("found new hardware" in syslog), so that LMS sopped working. Just out of curiosity I switched to moderate settings (800Mhz). Since then I have...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

More Feedback:

I just tried the Clone feature in SP. It works fine for me, allthough I was a little frightend by the menu. It does not clearly tell the user what is source or destination!
I did it anyway after looking into the script. I successfully cloned an 8GB SD to a 32GB SD! :)
