Re: help! problem with dyndns server

I know this may sound silly but most ISP's run a firewall for you, you can usually disable them.. be 100% sure! Also I wrote a detailed How to for dynamic dns on my blog at: http://www.administeria.com/raspberry-pi-dynamic-dns-on-raspbian/ But if the OP, and I, are reaching our routers (from outsid...

Re: help! problem with dyndns server

I've a similar situation, though I use no-ip for my dynamic DNS (not that this matters.)

When, in my browser, I navigate to "www.mydomainname.com", I reach my Pi. But, when I enter only "mydomainname.com", leaving out the "www", I reach the login screen for my wireless router.

Re: Plan 9 available

You can use a mouse with a clickable scroll wheel as middle button and the scroll wheel can be used to scroll up and down a scroll bar too but you should avoid to do that because plan 9 make too much use of the middle button and if you push too much on the scroll wheel you may get repetitive strain...

Re: I just pulled something off my Pi ;(

I believe the wiki says it's just a 220uf 16v capacitor surface mount. Any popular site should have them. Yes, I've got that from the e-linux site, but as I'm not that knowledgeable on electronics (I'm just a simple aerospace engineer), I often encounter the situation where too many possibilities l...

Re: I just pulled something off my Pi ;(

So, does anyone have a part number or catalog number for this capacitor? My thumb slipped this morning plugging in the power and I knocked my C6 loose. While my soldering skills are previously non-existent, I'm more than willing to try resecuring this capacitor (as I have two more Pis), but I'd like...

Re: Online Python Course

Anyone else signed up for the Mechanical MOOC Python course? I'm excited, this is the first 'course' I have done in around 15 years! JP How about a link? I am taking a Python course, though, from Ed2Go http://www.ed2go.com/CourseDetails.aspx?course=ipy&department=WP&tab=detail . And it's my first p...

What did you do with the Powerbook? Was it one of the good ones with the trackball :D , or the later model with the trackpad :( ?

Very interesting! I probably have enough old outlet covers laying about the basement to outfit a Pi server farm!

Thank you, Sergeant, I think I'll try this while I continue to continue to wait for my NCSU red & white case from ModMyPi.
