Re: Dismal Java (OpenJDK) performance on F17

Hey, thanks for the response.

I have been able to remedy my performance issue, without installing any different or separate packages.

My 99% cpu usage was due to the leap second bug the linux ntp server experiences. By stopping the raspi ntp server the issue is resolved.

Cheers.

Re: Owncloud - need help

I think some of the issues people have can be solved: The original poster asked about password issues. sqlite should be installed first before owncloud. As you install it (or mysql as I did), it asks you to make a user and a password, which you then tell owncloud on your first login. Download own cl...

Re: Dismal Java (OpenJDK) performance on F17

Hi, perhaps my issue is not that related to the original post, but I too am experiencing dismal java performance, running subsonic media streamer on raspbian, and there isn't many forums to discuss such issues on. I have had subsonic working perfectly. I'm running subsonic-4.7.beta3.deb which seems ...

Re: VNC Session - Mount external drive

This mounts, but I still have lots of permissions issues with pi. I use subsonic, and between switching to rasbian permissions have become completely read only, and pi doesn't seem to like any chmod commands or gui alterations to permissions I make. Frustrating. Anyone help? Thanks....

Re: VNC Session - Mount external drive

This worked perfectly for me. The steps from the two kind posters are needed. Wonderful. Thanks. Now back to enlarging the capacity of that SubSonic media server... Tottles off....
