Re: Ethernet port has stopped working

I had a similar problem after I got a new SD card for my Pi (which I loaded with the Raspbian image). I could see the output from the Pi on my monitor, but most of the lights on the board besides the 1st red and green ones were intermittently going on and off. When they would go off, all of my USB s...

Re: Strange Behavior with Sony DVI Monitor and Latest Firmwa

The part that I find most peculiar is that it works once I start X, and continues to work after I leave X, until I reboot. :?

Re: Strange Behavior with Sony DVI Monitor and Latest Firmwa

Hmm. No ideas, eh? Thanks anyway, folks. I guess my only recourse is to try a different monitor. I have a Samsung monitor on a different computer that I can swap with the Sony. Ah well... It would have been nice to have figured out what was going on, but I don't have the patience to muck with it any...

Re: RCA composite video display

You may need to create a config.txt in the /boot directory with the following in it:
sdtv_mode=2

Re: Strange Behavior with Sony DVI Monitor and Latest Firmwa

Here's the response from the tvservice command with the config.txt renamed to config.sav: [email protected]:~$ /opt/vc/bin/tvservice -s state: HPD high|DVI mode|HDCP off|composite off (0x120016), 1600x1200 @ 60Hz, progressive Putting the config.txt back and correcting hdmi_mode to read: hdm1_mode=5i m...

Re: Strange Behavior with Sony DVI Monitor and Latest Firmwa

Oops!

Thanks for the reply. I'll get that output when I get home tonight (where the Sony monitor is located).

Re: Can't boot anymore

This may have nothing to do with things, but I have sometimes had to remove my SD card and reinsert it in order for my Pi to boot. It's like I have to re-seat the SD card or something. Is there a pattern to the green "OK" light flickering? http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting#Green_LED_blinks_in_a...

Strange Behavior with Sony DVI Monitor and Latest Firmware

I am having a peculiar problem since I ran rpi-update and updated my Pi to the latest firmware. Absolutely no text appears on the monitor during boot-up. :( The Pi is booting: I can log in blindly and type 'startx', and LXDE will come up and display correctly. After that, everything seems to work no...
