Can't print out PDF-file

Hi,

I installed CUPS and SAMBA on my RPi and I can print from a windows computer .txt-files and .docx-files but whenever I try a .pdf-file it doesn't seem to do anything. Do I need something extra to print this type of files?

Re: Deleting packages which were installed on a certain date

most of your single actions could be combined via pipes, e.g. cat /var/log/dpkg.log |grep 2012-09-16 |grep ' installed ' |cut -d\ -f5 |cut -d: -f1 or cat /var/log/dpkg.log |grep 2012-09-16 |grep ' installed ' |cut -d\ -f5 |cut -d: -f1 |sort |uniq (to remove duplicates), so you can avoid temporary f...

Re: Deleting packages which were installed on a certain date

I'm back again. I think I pulled it off. Here are all the steps 1) grep 2012-09-16 /var/log/dpkg.log > /home/pi/list puts a list of packages that changed on the chosen date 2012-09-16 2) grep unpacked list > list2 picks out the lines that say Unpacked because I think every package will come at least...

Re: Deleting packages which were installed on a certain date

I'm back, I started the post with : grep install /var/log/dpkg.log This gives me lines like: 2012-09-16 22:19:16 status unpacked mscompress:armhf 0.3-3.1 I filtered all the lines with 2012-09-16 out by using grep 2012-09-16 /var/log/dpkg.log > /home/pi/ test1 Now there are multiple stages in there y...

Not exactly what you asked for. I hope it might help a bit anyway.
Thanks, I might try and mix them up. I'll try to work something out.

Deleting packages which were installed on a certain date

Hi, Today I installed CUPS, I didn't get it to work yet with my network printer. When installing CUPS I had to install several different packages and my SD card is now filled up to 97%. I found a way to show me a list of all installed packages by date: grep install /var/log/dpkg.log but I noticed th...

Re: D-Link DWA-131 // Help Please

Hi, I already made a post in here earlier. My dongle works now since the old computer is updated and now everything is WPA insteads of WEP. WEP will not work with this dongle. The only thing I changed is what Jeepguy already said. sudo leafpad /etc/network/interfaces and then auto lo iface lo inet l...

Re: CRT jack quality

Can you try: fbset -s mode "656x416" geometry 656 416 656 416 16 timings 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 rgba 5/11,6/5,5/0,0/16 endmode (your numbers may be different if you are using PAL or different overscan). So on mine, the height is 416. We want to change that slightly. So add to config.txt framebuffe...

No colour; Old Tv

Hi, I took an old television from the attic and found the right cable for the RaspberryPi. It works fine except for the colour, it's black and white. I was wondering if it's possible to solve this with some code or it's simply due to hardware. The setup is RPI --> analog out --> scart converter (Tha...

Re: Internet via ethernet into Windows 7 laptop

Windows can act as a bridge to the Internet for the Pi, and with the "other" type of ethernet cable (I never remember which on is straight, and which one is crossed), you can link 2 PCs via ethernet directly. Hi! Could you tell me what settings are neccessary on the Pi to do this? I'm try...

Re: D-Link DWA-131 // Help Please

Hi there, I'm in exactly the same situation as "JeepGuy". I'm using the same dongle and Raspbian "Wheezy". The dongle's LED twinkles on and off. lsusb shows the card and iwonfig shows the wlan0. Then I followed the instructions found in this thread: http://www.raspberrypi.org/php...

Re: Internet via ethernet into Windows 7 laptop

Ok, I managed to do it already. The share option had a subthing and I had to select LAN and then reboot and it worked. Now I need to figure out how I can get my dwa-131 to work.

Re: Internet via ethernet into Windows 7 laptop

Hi,
I read through this post and I'm trying the same concept.
Making a bridge from my laptop to the Raspberrypi with an ethernet cable.
For some reason the pi still can't get on the internet.
I changed a 'share' option in my network. Is there anything else I'm supposed to do to make it work?
