Re: Ubuntu 20.04 (Focal Fossa)

I can SSH in to the pi just fine and wifi is enabled (on 2.4 not 5Gz.. that never works either). I'm not using the official Ubuntu 20.04, but have noticed if using Network Manager with the Pi4, you need to add your country code to the crda file. sudo nano /etc/default/crda REGDOMAIN=US # Your count...

Re: Mainline Kernel building -- problems and issues

I added a mainline Linux branch to the Image Builder I'm working on for those interested. Currently it only supports bcm2711/aarch64, but I could easily adjust the packaging patch to drop in all built dtbs. All images created now use UUID and PARTUUID, so kernels can be built and installed on exist...

Re: Porting GPIO tools from Raspbian to other Debians

wget -cq --show-progress https://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/pool/main/r/raspi-gpio/raspi-gpio_0.20191001.tar.xz tar xf *tar* cd raspi-gpio dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc sudo dpkg -i ../raspi-gpio_0.20191001_*.deb It seems to build fine for me, although you may need to install the correct dependenci...

Re: Debian Image Builder (4B, 3B+, RPi0W)

To much has changed to list, but as for what is now supported. Debian (headless/desktop) Devuan (headless) Ubuntu (headless) Notable: Images now use UUID and PARTUUID. First boot checks and grows partitions on - mmcblk0, mmcblk1 and sda. Armv7l has been dropped, but can still be built using the lega...

Debian Image Builder (4B, 3B+, RPi0W)

I've been using these scripts in one way or another for over a year now and recently decided to Github them. The master branch has links to sample images you can download and all the other branches house the scripts, files and other bits. Since i usually run my Pis and other boards headless, that's ...

Re: Linux kenel stuck at 'uart: Baud rate'

I don't use UUID but set it more direct. /boot/cmdline.txt console=serial0,115200 console=tty1 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rootfstype=ext4 elevator=deadline fsck.repair=yes rootwait /etc/fstab /dev/mmcblk0p1 /boot vfat defaults 0 2 /dev/mmcblk0p2 / ext4 defaults,noatime,nodiratime,commit=600,errors=remount-...

Re: Linux kenel stuck at 'uart: Baud rate'

Looks like you got a failed to open cmdline.txt error going on?

Code: Select all

MESS:00:00:02.849400:0: Failed to open command line file 'cmdline.txt'

Re: Linux kenel stuck at 'uart: Baud rate'

Well that's unfortunate. I always set things exactly how I want them in the config. armv7l device_tree=broadcom/bcm2710-rpi-3-b.dtb overlay_prefix=broadcom/overlays/ kernel=kernel7.img aarch64 arm_64bit=1 device_tree=broadcom/bcm2710-rpi-3-b.dtb overlay_prefix=broadcom/overlays/ kernel=kernel8.img I...

Code: Select all

device_tree=bcm2710-rpi-3-b.dtb

Re: Need reliable headlessness. Current Raspbian a headache. Suggestions?

I suggest DietPi . It has great scripts and the install for most things is flawless. I'm currently using it as a base for my Home Security System, using four Pi Zero W's and two Rasp Pi 3's. It's my go too, unless I feel like sitting down and setting up things for my self. In the headless department...
