Re: model b 512MB failures

A codec to serial number mismatch does not do any such behavior. In fact if you have multiple RPi's with codec for each then you can configure one SD card to work on all your RPi ' boards as long as the matching key is in the config list. I would suspect bad power supply. What is connected to the R...

model b 512MB failures

...last year I purchased a 512MB model B, but had problems where it would shutdown immediately upon hitting login giving no time to write logs or read and "textual" output. Other things came along in the intervening time period and I haven't had a chance to test this out, but I came up with a theory...

Thank you for reporting this. I will send them an emails asking what has happened. I tried to add a copy of the manual here but the Raspberry-Pi website says I am not allowed to upload something with extension .pdf thx gert. love your work, but I guess that this just fell through the cracks as peop...

...hate to be a bummer, but the Newark/element14 link to the user manual is either a corrupt pdf or an empty one... FYI [EDIT] Now, I'm finding that the gertboard schematics(assembled) are also producing similar results, and this is, so far, under two different OSes(win7 x64 pro & OS X 10.9.2 both t...

Re: Steady RED light after few minutes

To clarify, when I said "steady red light", that meant nothing BUT the steady red light. All other lights go dark. No activity. I decided to swap-out the SD for one of the "known good" SD cards listed at http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals#SD_cards. That seems to have fixed the problem. That'...

Re: Steady RED light after few minutes

Does anyone have a solution for this? I received two boards, one runs for almost 10 minutes, the other not even one. It is very frustrating as I waited a long time for these boards! If you mean it boots up and runs for a few minutes to a couple of hours(I'm guessing on that as I left it on overnigh...

Re: US Stock at Newark

After waiting for weeks and weeks to hear from Allied, I ordered a Pi from Newark after seeing that they had a limited supply. I had hoped that maybe it would be here in a couple weeks. I ordered yesterday morning and was amazed that it was delivered to my house this afternoon. It doesn't hurt that...

Maker Shed in the US is selling the Model B 512MB Pi and has them in stock. I receieved mine in 2 days via USPS priority mail. http://www.makershed.com/Raspberry_Pi_Model_B_Revision_2_512MB_p/mkrpi2.htm Says out of stock... Welp, guess I just got lucky. Bought mine on Monday and got it Wednesday. T...

Re: Xilinx FPGA expansion anyone?

Would be interesting if it had enough gates to say emulate(in hw) some older 8bit and 16bit comps(support chips, cpu, etc.), e.g. Atari 800... A few years ago i'd probably be up for doing that... I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone had already ported something like the 6502 based Atari to VHD...

Re: Who is in the 1GHz Club?

I clocked my RPi REV0002 since 2 days @ 950MHz and it seems to run fine. No Kernel exeptions.. While i installed some pakets i noticed that there are many entries in Syslog like this: raspberrypi kernel: [ 4097.274561] mmc0: final write to SD card still running raspberrypi kernel: [ 4107.145704] mm...

Re: 1 Ghz and RAM Brand

My pi runs at: arm_freq=1100 core_freq=500 sdram_freq=500 over_voltage=6 Hynix RAM. Seems stable for 4 days although only the CPU is working at 100% (tring to mine some bitcoins :D). I originally had mine running @ 900 w/no overvolt... tried 950 but it hung during boot, so I just backed down to the...

I have now three pis. They are all used in headless mode and attached to usb devices (weather station, kamera). no extra costs. At least for me this is then 100$ compared to your 180$, which is big difference. This is going WAY OT, so this'll be my last comment. yes you're right, running headless a...

Re: Who is in the 1GHz Club?

The idea of the Raspberry Pi was NOT to make a small, powerful and portable computer. It was to make a cheap computer that kids could mess around with and if it broke, then they could get another one. If they were at your price: $50/$60 - then it would not be ideal for a parent to buy another one a...

Re: Who is in the 1GHz Club?

I still think that they made an egregious error with only 256M of RAM, IMNHO they should've MAXed the SoC's RAM support limit, OTOH I'd've still liked it better had they at least gone with a cortex-a8 broadcomm SoC let alone a -a9 SoC... oh well... So you'd be happy paying $60 for a Raspi instead o...

Seems that RS shipped to Maplin, see http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=182384#p182384 for jamesh's mention of pink boxes. Good grief - what an assumption to make! Just because Maplin box is the same colour as the RS box you make the link that RS supplied Maplin? Stunning! In fact, t...

I already have a minor quibble though, large parts of OSX are in fact OSS, just not the bits(i.e. GUI especially) that make it a moderately interesting unlixlike variant excepting for the company that controls it.
