Post a Summary of BEGINNER Commands?

Would it be presumptuous to post a summary of commands, in one place, that could be useful to other beginners as they are/were to me? I have prepared the list from the answers to my questions and requests for assistance. It seems this would be rather useful if this is something suitable to share in ...

Delete a post

My search using "Delete a post" and several other attempts retrieved nothing useful that would fix this problem. The problem: I seemed to have put a post in the wrong place. How do I delete a post?

Re: raspberry pi diagnostics (Explain!)

Read it. Got it! If the partitions can not be written by SD Card Copy then the value of speed diminishes to a big flat ZERO rather quickly, I think, because I cannot use the card and the Pi backup becomes useless. Maybe some day the cause for the inability of the SD Card Copy to write partitions wil...

Found: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=275187&hilit=beta+USB+MSD+boot+firmware Looks interesting though there is way to much going on outside my control (the changes that are coming in updates fast and furious) for the moment. There are other fires where I can make a differen...

Edit 20200602 ~ 0006 (TZ-P) Just updated a Pi 4B and the Raspberry Pi Diagnostics is not under Accessories or anywhere else looked -- even more curious ... ? I suppose there is a reason for everything! Under Berry->Accessories-> is something new in BUSTER --> raspberry pi diagnostics. I clicked it. ...

Re: HD / SSD boot Failure (Four green-flash loop)

" ... future software update ... " the answer to a never ending story! Thank you. The Pi 4 also had a hardware issue (?) with sound -- it only allowed less than 20-seconds of sound output. After its exchange for a working unit, its use is mostly a desktop ornament that gets an occasional OS update. ...

** UPDATE ** 20200320 08:57 a.m. (P) ... Re: Volume is dirty (External HDD - NTFS)

Never let it be said that I failed to use something that was taken under advisement! Thanks for the mention of the larger disks. It sorta helped with the 5 and 8 Tb drives that were needed on a Pi. Going into the "Why" is not of any value to the reader or the writer -- it was a necessity! The Seagat...

Re: pi 4 32GB sd card doesn't work.

I have multiple SDHC cards of 32gb that include Kingston SanDisk and Samsung etc. My first comment is that all work with Stretch. I also have various reader/writer. With Buster only the Samsung work reliably. I have used every SD card test I could find all indicating ZERO issues of any kind on the S...

Re: Volume is dirty (External HDD - NTFS)

Sat Jul 20, 2019 12:29 am To mount NTFS volum[e]s with r/w access you need to install the ntfs-3g package. The standard driver is less flexible (but faster) and only allows read access to NTFS. This was an EXCELLENT bit of input. My "Thank You" is a bit late. It is very important that you know thes...

File Transfer error thrown after ~7.9 Kb After Installing bluetooth bluez blueman

20190819_153029.jpg 20190819_153359.jpg This is a Bluetooth (BT) file transfer issue. I am aware of: ussp-push /obexftp / obexpushd as a result of several kind folks who have shared information. This is not about these applications. What I wanted was to be able to transfer one or more files at a ti...

I thought I would get smart (smarter) and determine what packages my Pi has installed. I finally found: dpkg -l | more or dpkg -s | more. GOOD NEWS. Being rather patient for some several hours waiting for the Win 10 chkdsk process to finish I have a "ClEaN" volume.
