Re: Will this work for power and charging?

I think I'm going to have to re-think my entire design. I don't see any way to do this the way I want, I'm going to have to make it bigger. Thanks guys.

Re: Will this work for power and charging?

I found this, but honestly I'm not even sure if it's real.

Re: Will this work for power and charging?

The ideal option would be to design your own HAT board that combines all the functions into one board (LiPoShim, Charger, Audio output, Amplifier). In theory it could be done, but it would be too much work and expense for a one off device. I mean, that would be great. I'll just have to dig in my co...

Re: Will this work for power and charging?

Well, I think I have found my best option for audio, but is is also by far the most complicated. It seems that there is some open source software at wiringpi.com that will allow me to reconfigure some GPIO pins to carry audio. Then I would just need a couple resistors, some wire, and a speaker. Othe...

Re: Will this work for power and charging?

In your picture, the LiPoShim is shown connecting to the wrong end of the Pi GPIO connector. It would normally sit on top of the Pi at the end of the connector with the Square pad around the hole (pin 1) by the SD card slot. I was afraid of that. That means I can't mount it the way I wanted. Well, ...

Re: Will this work for power and charging?

As for a speaker, how small do you want? Well I guess I will put it this way, I'm considering using the tiny speakers out of a pair of earbuds. Also I looked up some amps, but it seems like all the amps i can find are bigger than the Pi Zero itself. It looks like most of the amps are the same size ...

Re: Will this work for power and charging?

Thanks for the info. But you didn't answer the main question which was, will it all actually work, if wired up in the way shown here? I assume yes, since you seemed to skip over that part as if it didn't matter. I also notice the charger is a little on the low side, being only 500mA capable, you may...

Will this work for power and charging?

I'm trying to make a portable device, but all the guides I have found are using a Power Booster HAT The problem is that is a little too big for my project, so I'm attempting to accomplish the same thing with 2 smaller HATs. I'm also wiring it to different GPIO pins than what I see other people using...

Retro Pi phone

I'm basically trying to put a Retro Pi in a phone. I'm not really concerned with whether or not I actually use the phone's internal components, but I would like the finished product to look as much as possible like a typical phone. I wanted to use the screen and outer case from the phone, and just p...
