Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

Hopefully just pushed a fix for the black screen bug when launching certain emulators (tested with ScummVM). It was a really dumb fix. Let me know if there's still a problem. I'll pull it down and test it tonight :) Thanks for looking into this I got side tracked and didn't have to keep playing WOR...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

ES-scraper is ok, but it's not always accurate. I ended up with about 40 incorrectly identified master system roms which were showing up as "champions of europe" just because they were european versions of games and had (europe) in the filename. Lots of other games were also misidentified. I guess ...

You're probably not resizing the boxarts, that's why it's slow.

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

A last question, I have too many roms and my internet bandwith have a media of 15~Kb/s, to make an idea, get all the snes artwork needs 18 hours. But this is my problem, hard problem, the issue is that i get from es-escrapper all the artbox that i need but... the gamelist.xml never is complete or h...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

I'm sure I did everything to set this up correctly, I followed the instructions exactly on the blog. When I launch emulationstation I just get a black screen with a small white dot in the center. What happened? Can you exit ES after that? Do something like ./emulationstation > log.txt then po...

Yes. At least these 4 games:

Lure of the Temptress
Beneath a Steel Sky
Broken Sword 1
Broken Sword 2

Re: SCUMMvm and Frotz?

SCUMMVM it's already in the repo, you just need to call:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install scummvm
Then copy your games to your Pi, run scummvm and add/run the games using the GUI.

Re: ModMyPi Raspberry Pi Cases

Got mine last week . Looks great. It is a tolerance gap left for slight variations in PCB sizes. Some of the boards we measured varied as much as 2mm from one end to the other. We thought it better to leave a .5mm edge clearance rather than risking people's boards not fitting in. Feedback's been re...

RetroPie-Setup was running the script as root breaking the way some paths are obtained.

I wrote a quick fix and commited it earlier today so it should work fine from now on.

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

Hmm, your last commit seems to be slowing both the frontend and the emulation. Might be the new way images are loaded, I dunno.

I reverted the whole thing to the previous version and it's working fine again.

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

I've just committed a change that adds two things: automatic resizing of images if their width is above 35% of the screen, and multithreaded image loading. It's still not quite perfect (descriptions still don't display right), but getting there. I think I can get a pretty decent speed boost if I ca...

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

I just made a commit fixing a few things and added max image width as a parameter (If the boxart's width is above that value, it'll be resized to fit that value (mantaining aspect ratio)).

I think it's pretty straightforward, but I updated the readme anyway.

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

OK, resizing them to half now. I can definitely see an improvement but it's still a bit sluggish. I'll try with different (smaller) sizes. Maybe I should just resize images above certain resolution. Edit: Hmmm, a quarter from its original size doesn't make much of a difference compared to half. Also...

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

I'm going to try to get some basic image resizing in soon. I'm thinking I'll just resize the width to fill the left side of the screen and leave the height to whatever the aspect ratio is. That way if you switch between a lower-resolution display and a higher one, it can still use the higher resolu...

Alright, just committed these changes. The XML file is now loaded from the system's search directory. As part of this, a gamelist.xml file can now specify a game that was not previously found by t...

Re: EmulationStation - an emulator front-end

Having one big XML for all systems is a bit chaotic, and is prone to human errors (people trying to add the same system twice because they failed to see the system in the list due to it's size).. This. Right now, my scraper checks for recognized games on each system folder (using ES config file) an...
