Re: STICKY: Using the Troubleshooting Forum

HI. I posted this morning about rpi3 and adb but the post seems to have been removed. Was it put in another forum or deleted?

rpi3 adb sideload fails, can't read firmware file

I have tried the adb in the sources list, e.g. apt-get install adb, same problem as I'm having with adb-dev/5.1.1/ compiled for arm by Eugen (https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/44005/how-do-i-install-the-android-debug-bridge-adb-on-a-raspberry-pi). After removing the stock adb I copied ...

Re: Another question about RPi and the DHT11

I don't suppose the DS18B20 can be swapped in for the DHT11 and respond to the script if the proper module is loaded?

Oh, that's right, the DS18B20 doesn't have humidity.

Re: Another question about RPi and the DHT11

Wow. Nice device. Wish I had known. Will possibly use it next time I run the incubator, 5 years from now or so.

Another question about RPi and the DHT11

HI. I have a DHT11 working okay to a 16x2 display and the python script includes the math to get °F. Update speed is not an issue. A DHT22 has been purchased and will arrive in a few days. My temperature was set at 99.6° with a circuit unrelated to the RPI and DHT11. Built around an LM34 I can set t...

Re: Basic question on RPi.GPIO

Long time Debian user. Went to Debian User Forums and in a post found this post: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=134374&p=652705&hilit=mysql+access+denied#p652705 I saw a change between mysql 5.5 to 5.7. Doing a dpkg -l | grep mysql I saw nothing over 5.6.39. I searched for mysql chang...

Re: Basic question on RPi.GPIO

Mind's eye image of the cubical guy smashing his keyboard on the monitor. Spent $5 on a a RPi ebook that started off fine but then quickly got bogged down. Went to a later post by the author on event registering using phpMyAdmin and a hall effect module. As soon as I run events.py the script fails t...

Re: Basic question on RPi.GPIO

GPIO.BCM are the internal designations of the GPIO connections in the BroadCom chip. It is how the lowest level software refers to them. GPIO.BOARD is a way of using the GPIO pins using the physical pin numbers on the board. It is supposed to make things easier for beginners. One example is that ph...

Basic question on RPi.GPIO

I've tried to understand this the right way by following the links on raspberrypi.org on RPi.GPIO but have failed to understand the difference between GPIO.BOARD and GPIO.BCM. While getting the 16x2 display up and running, using wire wrap rather than jumpers, and the directions for the Adafruit_Pyth...

Hi RPi forum users, I've built a lazy susan chicken egg rotator for my incubator. The incubator has worked for years but required more work than after this upgrade. I plan to use the DHT_22 once it arrives from China. I have a number of RPIs of various levels in use, a 2011 v1.1 as a print server, a...

Re: Gigabit ethernet on Raspberry 3

My question is: Will an RPI3 eth via its RJ45 constrain other devices to a gigabit router switch to 100MHZ or have things changed in the years since I took a networking course?

Re: SVBC outdoor IP Camera WEB Login

My HD HomeRun gets ratty recording over a network but if I put a second NIC in a PC and give it an address in the 169.254.5.x 255.255.0.0, the box can be directly connected avoiding the network. I wonder if IP Webcams have some similar access without passing through the router. Of course the RPI onl...

Re: SVBC outdoor IP Camera WEB Login

Tried downloading the suggested Web Plugin to be installed by the administrator. Turns out to be a file called WEBConfig.exe, which a short search shows might be malware. I'm getting the impression this can't run setup on RPI. Wonder if running setup and WEBConfig.exe on a windows machine would allo...

SVBC outdoor IP Camera WEB Login

I just got an SVBC outdoor IP camera. I try to login to the camera using Chromium and was getting bad user name or password but just now trying, it logged into the camera and tells me 'please click here to download the Web Plug-in and then install it as administrator.' The directions in the Quick St...
