Re: aishub.net's rPiAIS has 2 eth0 and 2 IP address for eth0

You do not remove the secondary address 172.16.32.254, it is the network used by PiAIS. I understand you're supposed to use a Desktop with address 172.16.32.253 to access the software running on the Pi. Again. On you main network, DHCP lease renewal fails. That is the problem. I suggest you try fix...

Re: aishub.net's rPiAIS has 2 eth0 and 2 IP address for eth0

Your connection on the LAN (192.168.1.159) drops somehow. Perhaps the DHCP server doesn't like that other address the Pi has and refuses to give it an address when it tries to renew its lease. Try to see if the DHCP server can be set to be "authoritative". Otherwise, you can try configuring an infi...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3B+ overheating during zero activity or low activity (PiAware & Dump1090-fa Installed)

You do NOT need a heatsink on a 3B+. No matter what you're running, they're purely cosmetic. Oh... Really? Thanks for the advise. Yeah, without heat sink the CPU temperature also almost the same as with heat sink attached (just few °C different, not much). I will monitoring the Pi's condition and s...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3B+ overheating during zero activity or low activity (PiAware & Dump1090-fa Installed)

I don't think so, as it's constantly decoding the mode-S and ADS-B messages from any aircraft in view. It's a CPU hog. The USB RTL-SDR is a power hog (it don't half run hot). Hello, Thanks for the info. Yeah, I hope you are correct. I will try to get source for the Customize Heat Sink to cover the ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3B+ overheating during zero activity or low activity (PiAware & Dump1090-fa Installed)

I run Pi3B+ without a heatsink, no case, in an air conditioned office, so about 24c, it's running idle at 45.6c. Running a few simple programs, bumps up to 57c. The thermal inertia of the new Pi3B+ is now very good because the entire PCB ground-plane acts as a heat sink - which means that you shoul...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3B+ overheating during zero activity or low activity (PiAware & Dump1090-fa Installed)

As it is only runs on FlightAware PiAware & the dump1090-fa for 24/7 non-stop. I think FLIRC is the only solution to ensure that the CPU temperature is mild.

Regards.

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 Ethernet Issue

We think that the problem is related to Ethernet. But I believe that this is not the case. Both Ethernet ports eht0 and eth1 share the internal USB hub. USB is the key. Something is wrong there in relation with reset. If the command ifup solves the problem, you can use it at start but not only once...
