Re: VLI firmware v2.0 - powersaving features enabled

I run everything I have headless with a couple exceptions. So this is Buster light, all updates applied, powered on and booted. My fun one is the Pi4B with the Ice Tower cooler. running the buster full plus extras image, remote desktop server running on it and BOINC with [email protected] running 4 threads ...

Re: VLI firmware v2.0 - powersaving features enabled

Does the same temperature rise happen with no USB devices plugged in? BTW: is it correct that the Pi4 idles about 20 deg hotter than 3B+ ? 65 seems quite hot for an idle CPU. Not correct My 3B+ with no heatsink in a 28 deg C room idles about 32 degrees. Pi4B next to it, again no heatsink, idles abo...

Re: VLI firmware v2.0 - powersaving features enabled

You said your idle temp increased when you added a heatsink. Some of those cheap heatsinks use regular double sided tape which is a good insulator for heat and they cause issues. You need to get either a good thermal adhesive pad, or thermal compound and a way to anchor the heatsink, otherwise these...

Yes, and I tried it immediately after programming the eeprom and didn't have any hangs. Repeated the eeprom programming and then shutdown -h now without an issue

Re: [Not getting my full Gigabit internet speed on RPI 4b 4GB]

For upload speed, the benchmark creates a local file, then sends the file.
If the SD cards read speed isn't supportive of speeds of 1Gb, you will never see 1Gb uploads.

i2c-rtc dtoverlay no longer loads

after performing an apt update && apt full-upgrade -y yesterday on my Pi 3B+, the kernel etc was part of the upgrade. dtoverlay-i2c-rtc,ds1307 no longer loads the rtc-1307 module and I had to add rtc-1307 back into the /etc/modules file. I have googled everything I could find to see if anybody else ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ lockups

I haven't had any crashes with overvoltage set at 2. Still no crashes/reboots, and arm_freq is at 1100 with the over voltages set to 2 Probably this thread is the most relevant for Pi 3B crashing under load. If you have the time, reading the entire thread is interesting. In summary, the trouble wit...

Seems you are running a non-standard kernel? Octopi? We would really need to see the same fault on Raspbian before we spend too much time on investigating someone else's kernel build.
I have a freshly burnt copy of Raspbian on a 64G card to try tonight.

My Pi 3 B+ quit as well. Wifi actually associates with AP/Router, can ping pi. cannot ssh, access the webserver etc. If I plug in wifi, suddenly the wifi will allow connections. was working fine up until I did an update upgrade today. Which board, which adapter? Not enough data to even think about ...

Yeah, this is what it does. I was asking for help and you bashed me by acting like I didn't read the thread. That was very rude. It appears you software that you get into the pi with doesn't allow you to open a terminal window directly. Try "xterm" and see if that will open a window and allow you t...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ lockups

When I type "/boot/config.txt" it just gives me an Error. That's what I'm having a problem with. I should tell you to pound sand and figure it ou...
