Re: Format SD card with pi

Were you trying to format the SD card the pi was running from? If so, that ain't gonna work easily, if at all. If you were trying to format an SD card in a USB card reader, make sure that it hasn't been mounted anywhere and that you're trying to format the correct device. Hint: the one callled /dev...

Re: Firefox broken

Tested the ones that looked the best Epiphany (built in) works on YouTube but not Vimeo. Midori is the same. The rest are even more limited. Vivaldi is the best in the list. I'd say it's better than Firefox. Way more customizable. Need less plugin's like webRTC can be shut off in settings. Maybe I j...

Re: Backing up Entire Raspberry Pi

Keep in mind that although the "SD card copier" (aka, piclone) is quickly becoming the canonical answer to this very-frequently-asked-question, it is true that it is copying a live system. And, in theory, this can be a problem. I remember very early on in the Pi days, when someone would suggest any...

Re: activating wlan on both RPi 3 and Rpi zero

In PI 3 its as easy as clicking the lan icon. Turn on WiFi. Enter key when asked. Ethernet connects automatically when it's plugged in. I switch all the time. It even remembers the WiFi key. If you leave WiFi on with no Wifi avail, you need to reboot or, you will need to renter the key to connect. P...

Re: Send a file from my PC through LAN to a HDD connected to my Raspberry

I did it with VNC Lots of tutorials for that too. Adafruit.com has lessons. I played with Rasbian light on PI 0. I'm pretty sure I sent files to it. I'm sure you could navigate to a HD that's mounted. It's been at least 6 months since I played with it. I definitely used VNC to do that in Win.

Re: Internet connection

This is a long shot. Sometimes pi drops connections on WiFi here is the fix for that (sudo iw dev wlan0 set power_save off) It fixed my VPN. Hope that helps. If WiFi is dropping, power saving may be the cause.

Firefox broken

Firefox crashes on YouTube and Vimeo. Before the update, Firefox-esr did what I needed, now it's useless. I tried Vivaldi and Chrome. I am unable to watch or download videos on Vimeo. Firefox could download it just could not play them without distorted sound. I used to download, to watch Vimeo but, ...
